Celebratory Banquet 1

Messor had spent the following week doing a regular exercise routine to bring his body to its peak and the remainder of the time he spent familiarizing him with his home and its surrounding areas.

He tried learning more about the talent scanner he unlocked but to his surprise, almost everyone but regular servants were too high of a level for him to gauge.

This means that his cultivation level is far below their levels for the system to even consider them as a target.

Messor felt like he was wasting time. Until the celebratory banquet concludes he has been forbidden from venturing outside the grounds of the family home.

He could try asking for more prisoners to execute and he was certain his mother would allow it.

But Odin had made an excellent point about a rumor spreading about the bloodthirsty 15-year-old who executes people in a bloodthirsty manner.

Messor wasn't too bothered by this to Odin's dismay but after explaining about the dangers and problems this could bring Messor agreed it might be for the best.

And just like that a week had passed with the day of the celebration finally arriving.

The preparations for the event were completed meticulously under the watchful eye of Lila

She wanted everything to be perfect and even despite guests already arriving she could be still seen giving out commands here and there from within the hall.

Guests were arriving one by one and slowly making their way into the grand banquet hall.

Plenty of seats were placed on either side of a long and wide path. At the end opposite the entrance was a table that was at a slightly higher elevation and looked to be of higher quality.

Sometime later every guest that had been invited had arrived and sat down in their designated spot.

They were talking happily among themselves while waiting on the star of the show to arrive.

While the banquet was in honor of Messor due to him just recently recovering, Lila had forbidden him from participating until the very end when gifts to celebrate his recovery will be presented by the guests.

Eventually, the large doors at the entrance to the banquet hall could be seen opening diverting everyone's attention to a single person and causing them all to stand up.

Due to breaking through to the 8th stage of QI gathering, Messor's natural good looks were ever so slightly enhanced.

Now that he could hold a regular expression the servants who have seen Messor before started wondering if he was always this handsome.

His previously long silver hair could now barely reach to his ears at best.

Messor had found it irritating to wash his extremely long hair and with the future battles, he was sure it would only get more annoying.

He considered cutting it all off to get rid of the hassle altogether but Odin kept laughing at the idea of a bald Messor so he decided against it.

The new haircut made Messor somehow look younger and more innocent almost like an angel.

His cold Azure blue eyes, even more, emphasized this fact as the light from within the banquet hall glistened atop his silver hair helping complete the angelic look.

His robes were Silver with Tyrian purple accents.

He slowly made his way towards the opposite end of the banquet hall. As he passed the tables everyone made sure to respectfully bow and greet him.

[Make sure to not mess up, they may be ants but compared to you they look like starving tigers waiting for the opportunity to pounce]

'It's not like they will try anything today' Messor scoffed inwardly convinced that no one could be stupid enough to try something at a banquet celebrating someone's recovery.

Unfortunately, he was soon proven otherwise.

[What about him?] Odin diverted Messor's attention towards a single man.

He was a man sitting with 2 beautiful women on either side of him. It was clear they were his wives and their entire attention was being given to him.

However his attention seemed to be on Lila Torvus, his eyes momentarily would show his innermost desires.

It seemed to be a mixture of wrath, lust, and regret. Messor was certain there was something more to this man and he was certain that it wasn't just his mother's good looks that caused the man to have such a look in his eyes.

Messor had finally reached the end of the banquet hall and politely bowed towards his mother before turning around and being introduced to the entire hall.

"As you may be aware this is my third son Messor Torvus" Lila spoke in a loud authoritative tone

"As you know he has finally recovered from the unknown disease that had been plaguing him his entire life"

"With his recovery, I have gained my child back and I'd like to thank everyone gathered for coming together like this to celebrate this fact"

A round of applause exploded with various voices congratulating Lila on her child's recovery.

Messor had proceeded to sit down next to Lila, while usually, he'd get a table to himself, Lila insisted on sitting next to him so she can make sure he eats properly.

After a bit more time had passed, Lila announced that it was time for the gifts to be presented.

His father and brothers were apologetic but due to various reasons, they couldn't come and present their gifts themselves.

Lila went first and had given the Messor a storage ring from herself and his father, it was filled with a wide range of pills and herbs that should help him with his cultivation.

'How does this storage ring compare to the 'level 1 basic storage' I have?'

[It's very much the same, except think of a storage ring like a house with an entrance in the middle of a busy city and your basic storage as one without an entrance in the middle of nowhere]

'Huh? What?'

[Let me finish, a storage ring has one set path of entry, the lock may differ but if they're skilled enough anyone can open it or affect it in some way]

[Your basic storage on the other hand is equivalent to a house with no entrance, even if somehow, somebody learned that it existed they'd have no way of opening it or affecting it]

[This means that no matter the situation, only you can withdraw items from your basic storage and no one can affect your ability to pull items in and out]

'So basically it's more secure…'

[Eh, yeah long story short]

His 2nd brother had given him a set of antique treasures along with a note saying he will show him how they work once he returns from his expedition.

Messor's 2nd brother was currently traveling outside of their family territory. Despite being the 2nd son he was chosen to become the next family head.

His intelligence and ability to solve problems was a cut above the rest, and while his elder brother was a powerful swordmaster he had no interest in becoming tied down as the family head and refused his right to succession.

Due to becoming the next family head, the 2nd son was allowed to pursue his interest while gaining power, knowledge, and experience for the family. His main pursuit was archeology.

He would delve into ancient texts and tombs of ancient cultivators in hopes of finding treasures or cultivation secrets.

The set of antiques that Messor had been gifted was one of the many items his brother had managed to find and study.

They didn't look like much but Odin was sure to assure Messor that it may have some hidden feature and it would be best to wait for his brother to find out. That or kill a few people and gain enough power to unlock an appraisal ability.

'We're not going to go kill random people so just stop bringing it up'

[If I don't remind you, you're sure to forget…]

Messor's 1st brother had given him a silver sword with a straight blade with one sharp side and the back blunt. It had an intricate silver and gold handle and overall looked simple and minimalistic.

While his 2nd brother was mainly focused on the pursuit of knowledge, his 1st brother was more focused on the pursuit of power.

Currently, he was the vice sect leader of 'The Heavenly Sword Sect' his knowledge of the sword had caught the eye of the sect leader during his entrance exam propelling him far above the rest.

With the resources provided to him by his family and his sect, it was no surprise none of the other sect leader candidates stand a chance of catching up.

Due to his duties as the vice sect leader, he couldn't come to visit his younger brother and instead decided to send him a Sky Grade Sword.

Just like cultivation techniques treasures come in various grades and this weapon was one such treasure.

A single Sky Grade Sword like this one could feed an entire village lavishly for a year and have plenty of money left over when sold.

To be able to give such a gift away with ease showed the strength of not only the Torvus family but also the Heavenly Sword Sect.

On top of it, this was a very subtle warning to others, showing just how much Messor's eldest brother cared about him.

If he is willing to part with an expensive treasure such as this without batting an eye he is sure to do unspeakable things to the madman that decides to try and touch his brother.

Fortunately for Messor who was feeling like he was stagnating in his cultivation, not everyone had gotten the message.
