Chapter 34: "Dawn

"Come," the boss squinted, a hint of a crazy smile leaking from his blood-red eyes. "My dear two Kings."

In his hand, a strange light flashed.

Then, on both chessboards, all players except the Kings were engulfed in blood-red and deep-blue flames that burned brilliantly, as if they intended to turn their bodies entirely to ash.

"—Use your wisdom, wield the sword that represents the way of the King, and walk the most righteous path! The sacrificed companions are but stumbling blocks on the path to the highest position, you are Kings, you are... the most glorious, and also the most rational—"

The corners of its mouth stretched into an extremely upward arc, and the next moment, its laughter suddenly ceased, dark and almost suffocating:
