The Bus

After Draco spotted the figure moving in the distance, he told the group to sit tight and wait for him.

Draco knew that he would have to sprint at full speed to catch up to whatever it was, for it was currently moving away from them.

Draco saw that figure was easily two or more miles away, so he began to sprint after it.

He moved at a speed that was simply inhuman, and when he started running he blew a refreshing wind over the entire group from the force of his sprint.

The group watched with widened eyes when they saw Draco sprinting away. After all, he was moving faster than even a car could in the desert terrain!

As Draco ran he kicked up sand everywhere, and it looked like a cloud of sand was quickly moving through the desert.

The cloud became smaller as Draco closed in on the figure in the distance. Soon, Draco's group could only see a small dot in the distance.

However, Draco had now gotten close enough to make out more details of the figure moving through the desert.

He almost didn't believe his own eyes at first, for what he was seeing was strange to say the least.

The figure was definitely a vehicle, but it also looked like a bus of sorts. When Draco got even closer he confirmed that his eyes were not deceiving him.

The vehicle was a yellow school bus, but it had eye-catching modifications.

Along the front of the bus was a metallic ramp, and there were thick armor plates all along the sides. The many windows on the sides were also blocked off by bars.

Overall, the bus looked like something that would belong in the hit movie, 'Angry Max.'

'This thing is straight out of a zombie apocalypse.' Draco thought with amusement, now coming up a few hundred meters behind the vehicle.

The bus was easily traveling at 40 miles per hour (64 kmh), but Draco was moving even faster.

Unlike the vehicle, his movements were not slowed by the desert, so he quickly reached the back of the armored school bus.

When Draco came up behind it, he expected it to slow down, but it continued down the desert. He realized that the bus must not have noticed his approach.

Draco ran up behind the bus and jumped upwards, grabbing a hold of one of the vehicle's armored plates.

He used the armor as a foothold and climbed up until he was on top of the bus.

Draco's movements had evidently alerted the people inside of the bus.

They had likely heard the loud banging above the bus, and someone opened a hatch on the roof to climb up and investigate.

The man investigating the commotion poked his head through the hatch and shouted something in Arabic when he saw Draco casually standing there.

The man tried to drop back down and close the hatch, but Draco had already appeared in front of him.

Draco grabbed the man by his shirt and hauled him out of the hole, "Sorry, friend. I'm kind of in a rush." he said.

Draco dropped the man onto the roof, and the terrified man clung to the roof for dear life.

Draco paid him no mind and dropped down the hatch, he needed to talk to whoever was in charge of this thing and request transportation for his group.

He was willing to crack some skulls if he needed to.

However, when he dropped down he saw that the entire bus was already full.

All of the seats in the bus had been removed, and where they used to be sat a number of terrified looking people.

These people were crammed together and chained to the floor, and some of them looked so malnourished that their clothes were hanging loosely off of their bodies.

Draco wasn't sure, but he felt like he recognized some of these people from Hassan's bandit camp.

'Don't tell me.. Are these the prisoners that Saalim took back to Sabha? He must've already sold them off to these slavers.' Draco realized.

Draco's appearance had alarmed the crew of the vehicle, and they shouted at him in an Arabic language and pointed rifles at him.

Draco shook his head, "I don't know what you're saying!" he shouted.

One of the slavers was evidently about to shoot at Draco, not caring about the dozen or so prisoners behind him.

Before the man could even pull the trigger though, Draco had sprinted forwards and bent the barrel of his rifle.

Draco grabbed the man's gun and pulled it from his hands, promptly smashing it against the man's head.

Draco threw the destroyed rifle to the ground, and rushed towards the next slaver.

One swift chop to the neck was all it took to knock the man unconscious.

Draco didn't want to kill any of these people yet, for he had a plan for them.

Another slaver had pulled out a sword and rushed Draco's position, but a kick to his gut sent him flying into the walls of the bus.

The man's impact rocked the entire vehicle, and all of the prisoners screamed out in alarm.

There was a closed off room at the end of the bus, and it was blocked off by a make-shift metal wall. Draco assumed this was where the driver was.

All of the commotion in the back of the bus had evidently alerted the vehicle's driver, and the bus slowed to a halt.

The metal door at the end of the bus opened and a confused man walked out.

When he saw the injured slavers strewn across the bus, the man looked at Draco in shock.

Before Draco could react though, the man quickly shut the door.

'Damnit!' Draco thought, walking up towards the metal door.

Draco could tell that this door was only meant to hold against famished prisoners, for it looked like it was built shoddily.

He sent a powered kick at the door, and it instantly caved in.

One more kick sent the door flying into the room, and it crashed into the bus' driver with the force of a charging bull.

The man was knocked unconscious by the flying door, and Draco saw that there was another terrified man in the room with the driver.

The man raised a pistol and shot several shots into Draco's chest, but all they served to do was rip holes into his clothes and piss him off.

Draco walked up to the man and slapped him across the face.

*PAH*

He only used a minute portion of his strength, but this was enough to send the man sprawling. The man was knocked out from the slap with his cheek left bruised and bloody.

Draco turned around to lift the door off of the driver and carried both of the slavers back into the main room of the bus.

Draco then collected all of the slavers and threw them into a pile.

He looked for something to tie them up with, and he found a long rope in a supply crate that he thought would be suitable for the job.

Draco was about to tie them all up, but he suddenly remembered the first man he had left atop the vehicle.

When Draco looked out of the window he saw that the man had climbed down from the roof and was now running away into the desert.

Draco sighed, realizing that he had to chase after the man.

There was a door on the back of the bus, and Draco went up to it to unlock it. The door was held shut by several deadbolt latches, and after he undid the latches the door opened up.

Draco left the vehicle to chase down the slaver, and it only took him a few seconds to catch up to him.

The man fought Draco's grip as he dragged him back to the vehicle, but his hits did little more than annoy Draco.

Draco got tired of the whimpering man's struggling, so he knocked him with a chop to the neck.

He brought the remaining slaver back to the others who were still unconscious, and he tied them up together using the large rope he had found.

Once this was done, Draco saw that the prisoners were all looking at him with hope in their eyes. They likely believed he was their savior.

Draco shook his head, ignoring their pleading looks.

He went to the front of the vehicle and started up the bus.

Hearing the loud rumbling of the bus' diesel engine, Draco could tell that this was vehicle was modified for operation in the desert.

After starting the bus, Draco turned it around and began to drive towards where he had left his group of soldiers and scientists.

It only took around ten minutes for the group to come into view, and when they saw the vehicle approaching they all broke out into cheers.

Draco stopped the bus in front of them, and he got out using the metal door next to the steering wheel.

"I'm back everyone! I found us our way out of this god-forsaken desert." Draco announced.

This brought everyone to high spirits, and they went into the vehicle with smiles on their faces.

However, these smiles quickly faded once the group saw what was inside of the bus.
