Blue Star Meeting Part Two

They than all began discussing about, the Mortal Kombat cast and the actor who Alex had decided on casting. As he listened to both Michael and Mark opinion on the actor candidate's, Alex had long sent video clips of the actors auditioning to the two of them the days before.

Both Mark and Michael strongly suggested that they make sure the actors appearance where also taking into consideration. As making huge changes to the characters would be difficult if they were to go too far from the originals later.

Alex give his own opinion on the matter as the series would most definitely move to a 3D animation style. And would not stick to the photo realistic look for long, and once they do that the characters appearance would be over hold.

Sharing very little facial features with their actor faces. And would heavily rely on the voice actors performances until something like motion captures technology was created.

After discussing about the actors for Mortal Kombat, which Michael and Mark were really excited about as it flet like they were making a movie, due to hiring actors for the game.

" Hello, gentlemen your foods ready? " Interrupted a waitress with brown curly hair as she held two plates of food. As another waitress held the rest of their order, placing them in front of them, Alex looked at the mid-sized California Burger he ordered that came with a large side of chips on the side.

" Our boss told us to add an extra side of fries with your order. And are you sure you don't want a cool drink or milk shake with your Burger. " Asked the brown curly haired waiting.

Turning look at the nice waitress Alex replied with a smile " I appreciate the bosses kindness for the extra side of fries, and I thank you for your recommendation but, I'll be fine with just the glass of water for now. "

Alex had always had a problem with drinking the regular required amount of water even before his accident. Even now Alex had trouble with drinking the recommended amounts of water, so Alex made it a point to set a reminder for himself to drink water on his digital wristwatch.

As well as making sure he eat his food with a glass of water first, Alex had also decided to stay away from fizzy drinks like Coca-Cola and coffee. Alex is now very concerned with his health and took great care of his diet with his new knowledge of proper nutrition.

Alex wasn't very strict when it came to fast foods either he wasn't planning on becoming an athlete for a living. In a day he would indulge himself with a little something special like the Burger he was having now.

He wouldn't starve himself from eating something he enjoyed for a whole week or month, he just limited himself on how much and how often he treated himself.

Alex said a short prayer before using a fork and knife before he began cutting into his burger, before it began to get cold.

Alex got the habit of using a fork and knife to eat his burger from his father. He father was still British and dining table manner was one of the most important thing they learned from their father.

The prayer was something he and his siblings got from their mother. They didn't go to church as his mother had a bad experience back in the day, so they didn't go to church. But, they did read their Bible's on a regular because of their mother, actually learned a lot of lessons of how to be a good wife and mother from reading her Bible.

Such how a wife should have deep respect for her husband, and their father on how a husband should love their wife as he loves himself. Alex appreciate this as it give him and family members strong sense morals.

As most people didn't read their Bible they didn't know that there was a lot of wisdom to be found on family life. His father wasn't very religious but, he could be found on occasion reading his Bible, since his own late mother and current wife believed in the Bible teaching.

Alex actually found that believing in a higher power had given him a high sense of moral sensibility. Especially when he didn't have to attend church as just like most government and large institutions are most often very corrupt.

" Nathan, have you finished organizing the budget for paying the cast for Mortal Kombat." Asked Alex as he eat a small slice of his burger which he found decent.

Nathan nodded his head as he chewed on his food swelling eat before explaining. " Yes, that amount has been approved by your father and mother for the project as stated in the document."

As hand over the document to Alex who quickly scanned through the details. After which he handed it to his to other partners to have a look.

" Wow," Explained Michael and Mark still finding the fact the company the three of them had started several months ago, had the ability to spend that much money around. However, a big chunk of the money primarily came from the company investment in the stock market.

Alex and their others wouldn't discussing about the amount of money or the actually amount out loud in a diner. Nathan and Tom had already explained this to Mark and Michael, they didn't want to bring unnecessary attention.

This was simply to prepare everyone for the formal business meeting that was to be held by all four business, on Friday two days from now. Where they would go through the topics to be discussed, explaining to Alex how each of their projects were currently doing and what problems they were facing.

Hence, why Alex had setup this informal meeting, to get a grasp of Blue Star Interactive current financial and business operations were currently doing. And all four of them would be attending that meeting with his father, uncle, cousin with their teams. This would be Mark and Michael first formal meeting so they all needed to be on the same page.

" I would also like to add that there also seems to be some trouble brewing with Castle Wolfenstein 3D. Sega sent me this." Tom said while taking out a letter.

"There are raising compliments about the game as it seems many parents who bought the game are upset by it." Handing it over to Alex who took it after dropping his utensils.

While Tom want back to eating his food enjoying the his toss and bacon. Mark and Michael looked to Alex when they heard this, Alex opened the letter quickly scanning through it.

Before handing it over to the two who were worriedly staring at Alex. Alex wasn't surprised as he had expected this situation, and things would only escalate further after the release of Doom and Mortal Kombat.

The first Wolfenstein game released by id Software was primarily for the PC market. Hence, it didn't stir up too many issue's for the game studio.

" The both of you shouldn't be too worried about this situation, as it won't effect the game studio too much." Reassured Alex as he cut into his burger, with his fork and knife eating his meal with a relaxed demeanor.

" You seem rather calm about all of this. " Asked Nathan even though Alex had told them that their would likely be complaints from adults and parents alike. The fact he did not show an ounce of fear or worry about, a possible backlash is a little concerning.

Seeing Nathan, Mark and Michael look at Alex with concerned no longer eating their food, he put his utensils down again. Looking at his two friends, Alex spoke frankly. " Mark, Michael how old are the two of you?" Asked Alex

Both Michael and Mark looked at Alex strangely before answering Alex simultaneously "Sixteen."

" And who did we make this game for? " Asked Alex again.

" Teenagers. " Answered the two of them starting to get what Alex was getting at, and now both of them recalled that Castle Wolfenstein had an age restriction that they had rated themselves. Nathan also recalled this fact after listening to Alex words but, he still had a doubtful opinion.

" By the looks of it the three of you now understand what I'm getting at. All our games will have warning labels about, the age restriction for all our upcoming games. However, there still going to be backlash either way for the time being." Explained Alex, before taking a sip of water to quench his thirst.

" There also most likely going to be news coverage about, our next upcoming games. Overly worrying about the inevitable is useless and I can assure all of you that everything is going to be fine." Explained Alex

To which Michael and Mark nodded their head calming themselves in the process. "Anyway if that happens it would be a great way of marketing our games for free. " Said Alex with a smile.

The meeting than continued Alex, Michael and Mark reading through the accounting reports from Nathan.

Castle Wolfenstein 3D is currently selling about five thousand five hundred hard copies of the game for the Atari 7800 console a month. Making about 324 500 US dollars in its first month.

Another source of income for Blue Star Interactive was the investment made by the company. Which is where most of their income came from making the game studio a total of 4, 6 million US dollars in stocks currently.

Making about 1.5 million dollars in cold hard cash after selling and betting against stocks of business that failed in the market.

" Yes, I would also like to add that I've also resently been contacted by other game companies like EA. Asking us to license the game engine used to make Wolfenstein as well as making a partnership corporation." Spoke Tom after Nathan finished explaining the details of the companies expanses and income.

" Thirty-five thousand US dollars is the starting price range the minimum price for licensing the Unreal game engine is twenty thousand. At the low end, does anyone have a different opinion? " Asked Alex looking around the table for any objections to his offer.

Everyone shook their heads at his words Alex took another sip of water. Every one had finished their launch by this time.

Alex still had some chips he had yet to finish taking small bites here and there. No one brought up the other topic about corporation, as they new Alex already had plans to create their own distribution channels every soon. Alex frankly enjoyed the chips more than the burger he just had.

"Is that all the two of you have to report for the moment." Asked Alex looking at Tom and Nathan who both nodded their heads in affirmation.

" I guess it's only the two of you left to report, so whoes going to start. " Said Alex as he turned to look at his two co-founders waiting for their reports.

" Humm..Uhmm well I guess l'll star with my report." Said Michael clearly his throat.

" Alright, than let's hear it. " Said Alex nodding his head before leaning back against his seat.

" Well firstly I would like to say that were currently still on schedule, my whole team and I haven't run into any huge stumbling blocks as of late. We'll likely to finish developing the whole game by early September." Explained Michael with a confident smile.

" Good, what about team 1 and 2 of Wolfenstein, how the progress going on their side?" Asked Alex.

" Team 1 has completed porting Wolfenstein for the NES consoles and other consoles. Currently team 1 is now working alongside team 2 two develop episode 2 and 3 of Wolfenstein. Episode two will be completed by the end of next month if everything goes smoothly. " Answered Mark.

" What about DOOM how's everything going there?" Asked Alex as he now looked to Mark.

" We're currently on schedule to release the demo of the game by next month and the full vision of the game by early September this year. " Reported Mark with a calm clear voice, smirking as he finished. Really proud of what he has accomplished at the moment.

Seeing the smirking faces of Mark and Michael after Mark finished reporting. Alex knew there was nothing to worry about and didn't have to ask how the team that had caused trouble when he had previously left.

" Hmmm, how many people are currently in team one? " Asked Alex wondering if there was enough people to work on another small project.

" There six members in total. Why do want them to work on something else? " Asked Mark as he answered Alex questions.

" Yes, I will explain the details on another day when I visit the Headquarters." Said Alex with a thoughtful expression.
