Chapter 6

"Witness my greatness! Come! Come to me, my crown! The crown of the underworld! Your Prince calls on your power!"

After the chant is finished, The area starts to freeze, and a storm is happening in the middle of the floor. Joshua gives the biggest Kobold a smirk before saying.

"Shall we start?"

Joshua created three massive cyclones of snow and ice with a snap of his finger. The cyclones push through the Kobolds on his right, left, and back. After creating the cyclones, Joshua created forty-nine swords above him and one ice shield in his left hand.

With both shield and sword in his hand, Joshua charges as the Kobolds. The swords above him fly toward the Kobolds in front of him and kill them one by one.

The Kobold Magician shouts something in the monster language before suddenly the archer behind him fires a volley of arrows. Joshua dismisses a few of the ice swords above him and summons a shield in front of him. It blocks all the incoming attacks and lets Joshua get close to the Kobolds.

Joshua swung his sword to the left and then quickly raised his shield to block the incoming attack. When he sees the Kobold magician start chanting, he points his finger at the magician and says,

"Let the cold of death grip your heart!"

After saying that, a hundred ice spikes came out of the magician's body. That single attack killed the magician and dropped the morale of other Kobolds. Their attacks become weaker, and their movement becomes slow and sloppier.

The Kobolds Magician casts a buff spell to increase the physical power of Kobolds around it. When Joshua killed it, the other Kobold's physical power was cut in half.

With their magician dead, Joshua cut his way through the army of Kobolds standing in front of him. With a wave of his hand, he created another five ice cyclones and continued to fight the incoming Kobolds.

*CRACK*

After ten minutes of fighting, his beginner sword starts to crack before it finally falls to the ground. Seeing his sword destroyed, Joshua throws what remained of his sword at the Kobold and kills one of them with it.

He then creates a sword from ice and quickly slices the Kobold that gets close to him. Joshua jumps high and commands his power to create a massive cyclone around him to kill all the Kobolds that get close to him. After doing that, Joshua decides to use the full power of the second orb.

As the second orbs glow brightly, the snowstorm that is happening starts to intensify. Kobold's movement starts to get slow because of the snowstorm. Not only that, but the snowstorm also creates an ice needle.

The people that watch the fight decide to evacuate inside a nearby cave. Among the spectators is Sartika, the young woman who thought she could beat Joshua in the competition she made up. She now can only look at a massive snowstorm in front of her, and she knows the person doing it, Joshua.

She can see him creating a massive Ice cyclone filled with sharp ice that killed all the Kobolds caught by it. She is still irritated when she sees how Joshua handles his sword, but she cannot blame him. It was working.

However, Joshua takes many hits from the Kobolds because of his bad sword and shield form. Lucky for him, his Third Orb protects him from all attacks. However, the shield started to crack but was not yet broken.

Joshua knows that his shield will not last long and decides to end the fight. With a deep breath, he decided to increase the power of his second orb. He did not know he could do this, but his Authority told him he could do it.

By combining all of his orbs, he is given an absolute Cryokinesis. Sadly, this power had a time limit of five minutes before his Authority shut down for one hour.

All five thousand kobolds coming at him freeze up with a wave of his hand. They quickly became ice sculptures as they did not have any cold resistance. When they freeze in place, a massive amount of ice spikes come from the ground and destroy them.

In a single attack, Joshua was able to destroy a few thousand opponents. He released a deep breath before deactivating his power. He can feel his Five Rings of the Underworld go into sleep mode.

He looked around and saw many energy cores lying on the ground. Joshua collects them and places them inside his bag without thinking twice.

~Two hours~

It takes him two hours to collect all of the Energy Core, and even then, he knows that there is still Energy Core left behind. Not only that, but he also gets twelve Boss Tokens that he can use to summon the Mini-Boss four times.

However, he did not want to do it immediately. Not only is his Authority in sleep mode, but he also needs more control over his power.

"Maybe search for one of those Instant Skill books. It is expensive, but I can immediately learn how to use a sword and shield with it. Nah, I think searching for a teacher is more beneficial for me. The Government-Guild provides some training, right? I think I will take those training programs. I hope it was not too expensive."

After taking the Energy Core and Boss Tokens as much as he can, Joshua takes a return stone that he bought from the hunting shop and crushes it. A second later, he teleported to the exit gate.

After getting out of the Tower, Joshua walked toward the Indonesia Hunting Guild building. This is the place where he can sell his Energy Core. Joshua could sell it to an open market for a greater price, but it was too troublesome for him, and he needed to wait for a buyer.

After getting inside the building, Joshua walks toward the receptionist and puts his three bags on the table.

"I want to sell this."

"And this is?"

Joshua opens them one by one and sees the woman in front of him widen her eyes. She snaps from her thoughts and leads Joshua to a private room. As he sits on the couch, the woman asks for his ID.

"Can I ask for your ID?"

"Of course."

The woman takes the ID and widens her eyes once again when she sees that the man in front of her is a C-rank Blessed One. She walks toward the crystal ball on the table and presses Joshua's ID on it. A second later, she can see how many Infernal Beasts he killed.

The ID given to Joshua is not an ordinary thing. It connected to his soul. It will show how many Infernal Beast he killed and let the examiner determine if he is worth getting a promotion to a higher rank.

The crystal ball shows the woman that Joshua killed twelve Kobolds in total. It was a normal number for a C-rank Blessed One. However, what makes her surprised is how long Joshua became an active Blessed One.

"This is your first hunt?!"

"Yes. I want to test my power and decide to do it inside a tower rather than inside a training chamber."

"Ahh…"

The woman looks at Joshua with a new light before releasing a deep breath. She continues to read his info before her eyes reach the last part.

"It says here that you take the beginner contract?"

"Yes."

"Do you want to pay your monthly quota now or later?"

"Hmmm, how much do I get for today's hunt?"

The woman nods her head and places all the Energy Core Joshua got before putting them into a basket. A second later, a number appeared above the basket—seven kilos worth of Energy Core.

They are big, but they are very light. This is what makes gathering Energy Core hard. This is the reason why not many people take the Beginner Contract. Not many people can fulfill their quota.

"Yes. I will finish this month's quota."

"Then you will sell the rest of the Energy Core?"

"Yes."

"Very well. The guild is willing to buy them for seventeen million rupiahs per kilo."

"Not fifteen?"

"No. The government is currently in need of a large amount of Energy Core to help reclaim Bali from the Infernal Beast."

"They are doing another expedition?"

"Yes."

Bali is the city where an Infernal Beast roams free. The reason? The government tries to take the tower for themselves and decides to hide it. Because of the tower's location in the middle of a forest, Bali's government decided to hide them and take the profit for themselves.

It was a bad move. The tower is a B-rank tower, and when the Flood is happening, they cannot fight against that amount of Infernal Beast alone. Bali Island is quarantined to prevent the Infernal Beast from reaching other islands.

"Do you want to join the expedition? We will accept a C-rank Blessed One on this expedition."

"No. I will not do that. I still need to train my power."

"Fair enough. Anyway, do you want cash or-"

Joshua got out of the building with his bank account filled with money.
