Chapter 10

"I need a run." Chloe thought to herself as she prepared breakfast. "I wasn't hungry anyway."

She put down what she was doing and went to inform Liam of her newly made plans. She walked in then immediately froze, a red blush creeping up her face. Liam stood there, in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist . As much as she tried she couldn't help but admit he looked good.

He seemed just as much in shock as she did, his face a bright red. Her traitorous eyes roamed over his body as he stood still as a statue. Knowing him probably feeling awkward.

"Was there something you wanted to say?"

"Mmm hmm." Chloe mumbled out, taking a subtle step forward.

"Are you going to say it?"

"Mmm hmm." Taking another step forward.

"Ok." He breathed out as she stood right in front of him.

Her wolf growled at her not able to take the game she was playing any longer. She chose to ignore the warning and keep staring into Liam eyes.

Out of nowhere her wolf took control of her body and took charge of the situation. This was not the gentle calm kiss they had shared that night at the party, this was a strong, rough kiss. Her whole body felt on fire, but Chloe knew she had to end it before she scared him away.

After a quick struggle for power, Chloe won and slowly pulled away. Liam's eyes were wide as they parted.

"I'm gonna go for a run." Chloe said before she fled from the room. She really needed to stop running away after kissing him, but she was really bad at awkward situations.

"Why'd you leave" her wolf wined, to which Chloe rolled her eyes and shifted, only letting her wolf in control once they were out of sight of the house.

While she tried to figure out what was to come next, her wolf had completely forgotten and was now chasing a rabbit.

They started to head back home when a smell suddenly hit them.

"Mate."

They started sprinting, excited, yet, scared, so, so scared.

They were smelling mate's blood.

It was the only way to tell if two people were actually mates. Normally two wolves could tell beforehand, but until they smelt each other's blood it wasn't definite. Some wolves would even have mating ceremonies of sorts, where wolves from their pack would cut their hands. In hopes of finding the one, your mate. Your equal in everyway, your other half. Your everything.

They followed the scent all the way back to the house. What the hell? Walking around the perimeter they saw Liam in the garden, and they shrank down, hiding in the grass. Now was not the time.

The scent was so strong and overpowering by this point, that they should be standing right next to them at this point. Feeling hopeless, Chloe let her wolf fully take over, and was shocked when they started walking over to Liam.

"I said now wasn't the time."

Her wolf didn't listen, just continued approaching Liam. He heard them and spun around, visibly relaxing at the sight of them. Chloe's wolf nudged at his fisted hand. He opened it, revealing glistening red blood, pooling within. She licked it and growled.

"Mate."
