"Your house is-" I looked around the open floor area that consisted of the kitchen, dining room and living room, "Empty?"

Ezekiel gave me a coy grin as he made me a cup of tea and gathered some biscuits for me. I was not sure if this was a thing because I grew up in England but I would have to be a fool to give up a good cuppa. "I am aware."

"Is there a reason why it is empty?" I nibbled on a biscuit after he had passed me the server and carried my cup of tea for me upstairs.

"I talked to Lucy today, aired out some things and got rid of her furniture," he opened a dark heavy wooden door which seemed to lead into his study. It was packed with files. A grand dark wooden table close to the window with an expensive tan leather chair.

There was a coffee station off to one corner and what looked like a mini bar. A large 'L' shaped couch stood to one corner with a few cushions that were roughly thrown on.
