17- [Misinterpretation]

-

Adel was jolted awake by a warm sensation as he felt two soft blossoms on his pants, causing his 'little brother' to rock hard almost instantly.

However, he quickly regained control and calmed it by thinking:

'What was I used to saying back then when I was in the same situation that happened to me when I was younger?

Ah yes, lust is a sin. Amithaba, make me free myself of desire... No, it's not working... '

Adel shook his head as he felt Katrina's face on his chest and her arms around his shoulder.

It was a difficult position, even for him, who had previously experienced all of the fleshly pleasures in his previous life...

After all, cultivator or not, they all experienced mortal emotions such as lust, and Adel needed to convey it to his harem members. Of course, it wasn't only lust, as it was simply one of the motivating factors.

The majority of cultivators went to brothels to embed their seeds in random women. They didn't want to be tied to any women, but they still wanted to have fun.

Adel's situation was very stressful...

And besides, it didn't matter whether he was a married guy. What would he do if two gentle blossoms from a top-tier beauty were pushing down on his 'little brother'? Although he would not act immediately, he would have some indecision about whether or not to act.

Much less Adel, who was being impacted by his body's hormones at the age of 16...

-

He simply sighed and tenderly patted Katrina, waking her up from her sleep, since he couldn't take it any longer...

-

Katrina yawned as she stood up, a fatigued expression on her face rather than a relaxed one.

She looked around, confused, as she realized it was still nighttime, before noticing Adel and nodding towards him.

Adel returned Katrina's nod before the two walked away towards a gathering of disciples.

-

The only sound heard in the mountains that night, among the eerie calm, was the sound of Adel and Katrina's footsteps.

They were both going the same way. Katrina was following Adel since he was the one in the lead.

As for why there was just eerie stillness, Adel continued to employ the energy sword technique, killing all monsters within 500 meters and channeling their energies into his dantian, steadily increasing it.

His power was gradually increasing, but there were no indicators of a breakthrough, lest they confront a swarm of beasts... Even if it was only a small increase, it was nonetheless an increase.

-

Adel and Katrina eventually arrived at a group after Adel sensed where it was and went in that direction.

They just blended in, as if they were always a part of the group.

In actuality, Adel employed a Tier 6 [Misinterpretation] spell he'd created in a previous life to make them overlook him and Katrina, and even if they did see them, they'd assume they were already a part of their group.

His knowledge of the mind provided the basis for the [misinterpretation] spell. After all, on his way to studying mind-reading arts, he'd cast lots of new such spells to make his life simpler in situations similar to the current one.

But this was only its second use, as its primary function was something else that was also useful...

-

Adel and Katrina were bored after remaining with the group for a bit since they considered their stay pointless.

Adel, on the other hand, had a clear grasp. By staying here, they would avoid the notice of the disciples above the inner rank, and he would have an easier time dealing with them.

Then again, he could now beat cultivators in the early stages of the second step, but going any higher would force him to use techniques with backlashes, which didn't work for the current weak him, who needed as much strength as possible, not the other way around.

-

Adel felt it would be best to keep Katrina here and go battle some beasts himself.

After all, they were looking for Katrina, not him. Even if his disguise was discovered, which is impossible unless someone has a greater cultivation than his soul, they would not want to harm him.

Katrina didn't agree with what he told her, so she wanted to follow him. She pestered him a lot, stating he'd be safer with her by his side, until reluctantly giving up with a pout after hearing that he'd be safe with his current power, which might kill an early stage second step cultivator of any pathway that was present.

-

Adel soon left in a direction of a large number of disciples.

He then ran hurriedly, pushing disciples here and there, making them rush towards him in anger, as he deactivated the [Misinterpretation] spell for himself.

He was already aware of Katrina's energy fluctuations. So he could perform the spell on everyone within 500 meters of her, making anyone below the third step ignore her.

However, this required a significant amount of energy. After all, utilizing sixth step soul energy while still on the first step was insane, unless they were like Adel, who had soul energy that was double the cultivation when he first started, causing it to rise even more upon breakthroughs...

But he, too, had a limit. With his current strength, he couldn't cast offensive spells capable of dealing with real sixth-step cultivators. Only those that have an impact on the soul or mind. Even that, though, was predicated on his grasp of the mind, and the opponent's prowess.

Spells are ranked in order of strength. A first-step cultivator could cast a first-tier spell, while a seventh-tier cultivator could cast a seventh-tier spell.

They naturally fall into three categories: body spells, soul spells, and energy spells.

In terms of energy usage, however, the first stage cultivator would have used all of his energy before he could even activate it.

Adel was, indeed, one-of-a-kind. While on the first step, he may have enough soul energy to cast 6th-tier spells.

But even he had limitations, since he could barely use it for a few seconds unless...

-

Adel could sense more and more magical beasts hunting him down from all sides as he moved.

When they saw the swarm of magical animals following him, the disciples who had earlier surrounded him dispersed and rushed as far away from him as they could.

The most terrifying aspect was that he was being pursued by dozens of high stage first step beasts.

These beasts were now following Adel in a wild frenzy, almost as if he were a rare pearl.

He was going to gain unlimited energy by being beat— *cough — battling beasts with the [Cankili] martial art...
