Escape

The princess stood for a while outside the door and thought for a while. "My parents will be so worried when they will find out that im not in the palace",she said to herself.

But l really need to leave so that i can cool off because my head is full now. She moved few steps forward and heard some steps coming at her front,she quickly stopped and ran to hide behind a big tree to observe the people coming.

"May be father has sent the palace guards to go look for me" she thought.

As the people came closer,she could hear their voices. "Hmmm these are not familiar voices she said,so they are definitely not from the palace".

She watched them from where she was hiding as they came closer. They were four in number,a middle aged woman with her three sons who are within ages 14 to 20. They were discussing about their missing goats,so it seems they are in search of their missing goats and they are not leaving far from her kingdom. Immediately they passed where she was and went a bit far from her,she came out and ran for some minutes and stopped. "Awwchi, my leg hurts" she exclaimed as she sat on a stone she found there but got up almost immediately because the sun was too much. She carried the stone,put it under a tree and sat down. She thought about the party and how her father the king disappointed her. What could be his reason? He told me that the ancestral ring is a royal symbol of authority, it was meant to be worn by his child who will succeed him on the throne. Joe my late elder brother was to inherit the ring,but he dead at age 12. A year after Joe dead,was exactly when i was 10 years old. Father told me about the ring and that it will be handed over to me on my 18th birthday if my mother the queen does not have another male child. Hmmm i hope it is not what am thinking ooo, may be the king has another child, a son from another woman. Hmmm that will be a bigger disappointment to mother and I. No no no, it can't be true the princess said to herself. But what other reason can make him not to give me the ring as promised. She let out a dee sigh and stood up from where she sat and started walking up and down. Then she saw one road and followed it even though she has no idea where it leads to.

As she walked down the road she, she heard noise/voices and walk toward the direction of the noise. The noise led her to a busy road, she stood there and watched people stopping and entering buses. She quickly brought out her veiland used it to cover her head and face so no one would easily recognize her as princess Jewel.

"I wonder where these buses are going to?"

she said to herself. Then she looked at her wrist watch,wow "it's 6:30pm already! I'm sure my family is already searching for me,well they will see me after i have finished cooling off my head so that my mind will be ready for the kings explanations" she said in her mind. As she continues to watch the buses stopping and carrying people,she said to herself may be i should enter one of these buses and go for a brief sight seeing. I will not stay long,just few minutes i will take another bus and come back. Yes that's exactly what i will do the princess said to herself. When a lady standing beside her stopped a bus and entered,the princess also entered the bus without have a particular destination in mind. Their bus didn't not move up to 30 minutes when some unknown gun men attacked them. They took away money and all valuable things from the passengers one by one and when it got to the princess turn, one of the gun men stood and observed her well "this one looks like she is from a wealthy home, it is clearly written on her, her looks, her skin, her cloth and asseseries" he said drawing the attention of thw other men with him. They collected her wrist watch, jeweries and shoe.Their leader came and gave a closer look at the princess and said let's take her with us, her parents must pay heavily before they see her again, this is our lucky day" he said with a wicked smile on his face. So they pushed her into their car and drove off.

"Oh my God my brief sight seeing has turned to kidnapping",the princess said in her mind as she began to cry. "What do l do now? the princess asked herself. She blamed it all on her father for not keeping to his words, else all these would not have been happening.

As the gun men drove some distance,their car developed fault and stopped moving. Aaah! why did this car stop by this time in this dangerous place said one of them. He looked at his wrist watch and shouted 8:30pm,Lord have mercy!

I can hear some strange sounds coming from the forest said the leader of the gun men,as they were fixing the car. The others listened and confirmed it. Before they could think of what to do,five strange looking creatures which could be likened to be monsters came out from the forest. Immediately they saw the monsters, they all entered their car and tried to start it. Luckily for them the car started and they drove off. The monsters ran after them,when they saw that the monsters were runing so fast they thought of a way to distract them.

"Lets push this girl out to save our lives" one of them suggested and they all agreed to it immidiately. So they pushed the princess out of the car and drove off. They now turn to the princess and left the people in the car. She sustained injuries as a result of being pushed out of car,she tried to get up and run but pain didn't allow her. Before she knew it,the monsters were right before her. Please don't hurt me the princess pleaded while shaking in fear, but the monsters looked at themselves and came even more closer to her. Then one of the strange creatures stretched out its hand towards her and she let out a loud cry.

Rex's trap fell out of his hand as he heard the loud cry of the princess. He knew the cry was from someone in danger so he ran with his torch light towards the direction of the cry. As he was runing, the princess was shouting the more. Suddenly a young man in his early twenties ran out of the bush with his big torch light,sword and gun, and came boldly towards the monsters, he showed no atom of fear rather he was ready to fight them.

The princess was happy to see someone come out to help her but then in her mind he can't be of help to her as it was only him against the strange creatures.

" Its no use, they will just finish him off, i'm finished, so this is how my life will end" she cried.

But suddenly and to her greatest surprise, when Rex came closer to fight the monsters, they didn't rush towards him as expected rather they began to take some steps backwards and before anything could happen they were all on thier knees with their faces to the ground that even Rex himself got confused as he did not understand what was going on.

Rex watched as the monsters trembled in fear even as they were on the ground, he decided to take advantage of the situation.... before he could say anything one of the monsters began to cry out.... "please forgive us, we are sorry for trying to hurt her"

"I will pardon you because you did not harm her, now get up from there and disappear from here immediately before I unleash my anger on you" Rex yelled with aloud voice

They quickly did as he said as they ran back into the forest as fast as their legs could carry them. Rex could not believe what just happened before him, he stood there with his eyes wide open in shock .
