Her hard heart softened. All the defenses she built around her heart melted away. Why did the man have this effect on her? It was just a simple kiss, but it penetrated her heart. Maybe that was what love really was. No matter how much she restrained herself, it seemed that her love for him still came out. And love always forgives but never forgets. Yes, and she understands why he lied to her, but she hates the thought that he lied to her. She needed time and space.

 

"I understand why you lied," she said. "But I'm still mad at you because you lied." She grabbed the hand that he was holding. "I need space, Harrison. Even just today. I hope you don't mind. Promise, tomorrow, I'll be okay. I need to be alone."

 

Harrison stared at her intently when he let out a deep breath.
