Fight

As Mrs. Deli charged at Chris with a deadly dagger, I knew I had to act fast. I lunged forward, my fists clenched, and Chris followed my lead. Together, we faced off against the demon-possessed assassin.

The fight was intense, with Mrs. Deli's supernatural strength and agility pitted against our determination and teamwork. Chris and I exchanged blows with her, our movements swift and precise. But Mrs. Deli was a formidable foe, her dagger slicing through the air with deadly precision.

I managed to dodge her initial strikes, but she quickly gained the upper hand. Chris and I were forced to retreat, our backs against the wall. That's when I spotted an opening – Mrs. Deli's momentary lapse in focus. I seized the chance, landing a solid punch to her face.

Chris took advantage of the distraction, striking Mrs. Deli with a series of rapid-fire kicks. She stumbled back, momentarily stunned. We pressed our advantage, unleashing a flurry of punches and kicks that sent her crashing to the ground.

But Mrs. Deli was far from defeated. With a feral snarl, she sprang to her feet and charged at us once more. Chris and I stood firm, our bond and determination driving us forward. We fought in perfect sync, our movements a blur as we battled the demon assassin.

The chamber echoed with the sounds of our struggle, the flickering torches casting eerie shadows on the walls. Herodias' laughter and dark magic still lingered, but we refused to back down.

In a final, desperate bid to defeat Mrs. Deli, Chris and I combined our strength. We delivered a crushing blow, striking her with all our might. Mrs. Deli let out a blood-curdling scream as she stumbled back, her dagger slipping from her grasp.

For a moment, we stood panting, our chests heaving with exhaustion. Then, we turned to face Herodias, our eyes blazing with defiance. The ancient queen's malevolent energy still suffocated the air, but we were ready to face whatever darkness lay ahead – together.

I had protected Chris from every single attack Mrs. Deli unleashed upon him, but it came at a great cost. My body was marked with deep cuts and stab wounds, still bleeding profusely. If not for my superhuman healing abilities, I would likely be bleeding to death. My supernatural adrenaline boost didn't make me immune to the immense pain, though. My fist clenched at the torment, but I refused to cave in. Not when Mrs. Deli was hell-bent on killing my best friend.

She was relentless in her assault, and I felt firsthand why she was considered the most dangerous demon assassin to walk the earth. She was also the infamous Delilah, the ancient wife of Samson, and the reason he ended up dead. Herodias' annoying commentary filled me in on this tidbit as we fought for her entertainment. I had tried to talk Mrs. Deli out of her trance, but she was too far gone to return to her senses.

I was tired of holding back on Mrs. Deli, who could possibly take a bullet and walk it off. Speaking of that, Herodias and her men were dumb enough to leave me armed with my handy pistol. I pulled it out and, as Herodias laughed, saying, "What do you think that would do to Deli?" I sighed and replied, "It's not for her," right before spraying Herodias with nonstop gunfire. Her men were startled, never expecting me to do that. In the chaos, Chris got a chance to run, just as I hoped. But as it all seemed to go my way for once, Mrs. Deli lunged at me and stabbed me straight in the heart.

I was shocked, unable to react as she pulled it out almost instantly, casually slicing a few vital arteries and veins. I was about to fall when my body froze mid-way. Out of nowhere, Herodias appeared before me, putting her bare hand through the stab wound, gripping my human heart while lifting me up. My blood began to drip down her raised arm, still deep in my chest, as I could only groan in pain. She began to rant like a madwoman, "What did you think was going to happen after you shot me!!! Your dad wants you alive, but I might as well kill you and save him from a disappointment like you."

I felt her hand, deep in my chest, attempting to crush my heart. I only heard Chris scream, "No!!!" as he rushed to save me. He was put to the ground by Herodias' men and forced to witness my death. At that moment, when all hope seemed lost, I said my last prayer with all the faith I could muster, just like Father Gabriel suggested. If demons like Herodias were real, then angels had to be real too.

Just when my vision began to blur, the sky outside darkened, and in an epically supernatural display of nature, a lightning bolt came down, blasting through the roof to finally hit Herodias right on the forehead. It was precise, effective, and deadly enough to cause her to drop down on her knees and pull her hand out of my wound. I fell to the ground and could only watch as she struggled to construct words, still dazed by that single perfect lightning strike, "What in God's name..." Before she could finish the sentence, the lights in the room went off for just a second, after which they came back on to reveal Officer Uriel suddenly towering over Herodias with his gun in her mouth as he said, "Demons don't get to call that name. Remember that!!!" He blew her brains out, and this time she didn't rise again.

This sent Herodias' men into a frenzy as they tried to flee from Uriel, who now had a powerful judge-like aura around him. Mrs. Deli, on the other hand, fearlessly lunged at Uriel, almost stabbing him right in the eye. He brought all of them to a mystical stop once he said, "Halt." He then raised his gun at Mrs. Deli's frozen body, ready to send her and all Herodias' men to their Maker when Father Gabriel appeared out of nowhere and grabbed the first bullet fired from the gun while casually saying, "No, Uriel, she isn't part of them, and you also don't get to execute all these people in front of my new friend."

My numb body was unable to move, but my mind was screaming as my eyes witnessed Uriel and Gabriel effortlessly break the laws of physics. Gabriel walked up to me and, with one touch, all my wounds were gone, healing me completely. I jumped up to my feet instantly and ran to Chris' side. We both pointed our guns at both of them, knowing full well our guns were probably useless against these godlike beings standing before us.
