The only things which weren't included in his inventory were all his tools and weapon, which were placed in a pile on the floor in front of him.

Deciding it was time to get started on upgrading and designing the shelter Deryn got to work. He first thought to upgrade the shelter before creating the partitions, as it would give him even more space to work with.

————————————————————————————————————————————

< DING >

< CONSTRUCTION OF DOOMSDAY ADVENT SURVIVAL SHELTER: LEVEL 2 UNDERWAY >

< CONSUMED MATERIALS: 125 WOOD / 80 STONE / 25 IRON / 1 LEVEL 1 MANA CRYSTAL >

————————————————————————————————————————————

Deryn was dumbfounded. The shelter began to get bigger, but without any mess, noise or movements. It seemed like it was just naturally growing. Quite opposite to what he thought would happen, as for the shelter to get larger, it would have to go inwards, through the tons upon tons of rock that made up the base layer of the hill.

After a few minutes, the walls had stopped moving outwards. Having a look around, besides the place is bigger, there was a medium-sized room which had a large wooden barrel in it, with a pipe sticking out of it leading directly into the ceiling before vanishing from view.

This was the water storage (50L), that became available at level two and was automatically built for him. After further investigation, there was nothing else to see, and going downstairs it was the same story, an empty room albeit bigger than he last saw it.

Opening up the shelter customisation menu Deryn decided it was time to get started on the partitions within the shelter, a plan already in mind. The base was now 9m long and wide with a height of 3m. This additional space would be handy as he wanted to split the aboveground first floor into 5 rooms.

The first would be his bedroom, which he planned to have a 3m x 3m room which would have the toilet and shower room, a 2m x 2m space attached to it. From there next to his bedroom would be the kitchen a 3m x 3m space. Following that is his tool and weapon storage room which would take up a 2m x 3m space.

The remaining space would consist of a hallway to get from the front door to the underground entrance door, training space and a buffer zone, which would be a wall starting 1 m from the front entrance of his base and going all the way across. This would in theory create a second line of defence for his shelter should he need it.

With the plan in mind, Deryn went to the partitions menu. Thinking with his mind what he wanted materials started flowing out of his inventory bag into their respective places. Just like upgrading the shelter, the process of creating partitions was done quickly, cleanly and most of all efficiently.

There was an artistic sense towards the entire scene Deryn thought. Every individual material rhythmically went to its specific location, like the materials were paint being applied to a canvas by an attention to detail driven artist.

Just as he was about to get further lost in his thoughts the entire process finished and a ding appeared in his mind.

< DING >

————————————————————————————————————————————

< PARTITIONS HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED >

< MATERIALS CONSUMED: 40 WOOD / 12 STONE / 16 IRON >

————————————————————————————————————————————

The wood and stone were used for the new walls throughout the first floor while the iron was seemingly used to increase the distribution of piping, allowing for lighting and plumping to go to their respective locations.

There was now a light in every room and corridor, evenly distributed throughout the base. As he looked around Deryn nodded to himself, satisfied with the layout he had chosen, as it was not only practical but also more of a home now.

"Well not quite just yet... still need to put the furniture in and it will be good to go" he muttered aloud.

Getting back to work he decided to work on the underground room 1.

For this, he had a much simpler plan. He wanted to split the 6m x 6m space into 2 rooms, a work area with his workbench and a storage area, for the materials he gathers.

The work area would be a 2m x 6m space at the back of the room, whilst the storage area would be entirely in front of that at 4m x 6m. That way it would be easier for him to grab materials from storage, whether he was upstairs coming down for materials or downstairs using his workbench.

Plan in mind he once again went into the partitions menu before materials started to fly out of his inventory. Whilst this was happening he crafted a level 1 workbench.

————————————————————————————————————————————

< LEVEL 1 WORKBENCH >

DESCRIPTION: A workbench is required to craft certain items and furniture. This particular workbench is very basic and doesn't offer much in the forms of items and furniture. Upgrading to a higher level will allow for more items (should you have the blueprints) and a broader variety of furniture to be crafted.

MATERIALS NEEDED: Wood x25 / Stone x25 / Iron x10

UPGRADE REQUIREMENTS: LEVEL 2 SHELTER (CHECKED) / Wood x10 / Stone x 15 / Iron x 25

————————————————————————————————————————————

Deciding to build the level 2 workbench right away it started crafting in the shelter customisation menu. As it finished crafting the partitions and doors appeared in the room. He walked forward into his new workspace before placing the workbench against the back wall in the middle.

The workbench was 3m long, directly taking up half of the back wall and was 130 cm high with a backboard reaching directly into the ceiling. It came with two lots of shelves on either side of the workbench which had a range of tools in, a few of which Deryn knew of like a hammer and chisel.

This reminded Deryn of what the system mentioned to him earlier today, that the assistance and convenience of automatic features such as skinning and crafting were only implanted at the initial period, as humans with their average survival skills, needed such a helping hand.

Deciding to ponder on this another time Deryn walked towards the workbench. As he walked closer a holographic panel appeared before him listing the possible items and < BLUEPRINTS > he could craft. He found this novel, swiping his finger in the air forwards and backwards in childlike excitement.

After a minute of this, he started to get bored and decided that now was the time for him to craft everything he needed and could craft through the workbench, and so got to work.

30 MINUTES LATER

Deryn placed the last item he could from the shelter customisation menu, the toilet and shower facilities. They appeared in front of him in a corporeal form like the rest of the furniture he placed over the past half an hour. Quickly moving the toilet into a corner with the shower in another corner, he used partitions to slightly box the shower in for aesthetic purposes. The only other furniture in the room was a shelf on the wall above the toilet, as there wasn't anything else, bathroom wise, to craft in the workbench.

Walking out of the bathroom he decided to tour the shelter. In the bedroom was a new bed frame with fur bedding neatly put over the top of it. The bedding included a bed sheet, blanket and a single pillow. Whilst not the most luxurious it was a lot better than sleeping on the floor. There was a small table next to the bed with a large desk next to that with a wooden chair in front of it. In the corner of the room near the door was a double wardrobe with his combat outfits inside.

The kitchen was still slightly bare as it had no facilities and furniture wise there was only a few cabinets, a large table with a single chair. Although he did manage to craft some basic plates and bowls out of stone which was a plus.

The weapon and tool storage room was a lot more furnished than the kitchen. It had rows of shelves on the walls, while under those shelves were tables on which he left his tools. In this middle of the room was a single mannequin which in its right hand held Deryns Regular stone spear. He initially wanted to craft a few mannequins but was limited to just one by the workbench menu.

There was nothing added to the buffer zone or the water storage room. But the training area now had a long bench and a few wooden blocks placed on top of each other where he could practice his spear usage. Although it wasn't much and was an extremely basic setup Deryn figured he could improve it as time went on.

Lastly, the underground floor was the most expensive (material wise) to furnish. This was because the storage racking which went from the bottom to the top of the room and was filled with shelves were lined all along with the room with a cross walkway so he could access each shelf and also his workshop.

The workshop was the room with the least space comparatively. This wasn't because it was a small space but rather because of the amount Deryn had placed in it. He found that there were bookshelves available to be crafted in the level 2 workbench and had thus crafted 3 of them. One corner of the room was dominated by them and slightly partitioned off to split up the layout of the room. On the other side was the newly added floor to ceiling shelves which took up half of the wall and lastly in the middle was the giant workbench.

Looking at his notifications and a quick tally later he found he used a lot more resources than he initially thought he would

"Perhaps I got a bit carried away with some of this furniture," he thought.

< SYSTEM AGREES THAT THE HOST INDEED GOT CARRIED AWAY. SYSTEM TRIED TO WARN HOST ON 7 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BUT WAS IGNORED >

"..."

————————————————————————————————————————————

< MATERIALS CONSUMED: Wood x80 / Stone x 30 / Iron x20 / Hide x5 / Fur x15

————————————————————————————————————————————

" Yeah... Maybe I went slightly overboard system, but it will help me get more advent points right?"

< HOST IS CORRECT >

"..."

< HOST BE ADVISED, THE TIME IS NOW 10 PM, ADVENT POINT CALCULATOR IS NOW AVAILABLE >

Instantly filled with excitement Deryns eyes shot towards the window which appeared in his vision.

————————————————————————————————————————————

< TOTAL ADVENT POINTS FOR DAY1 = 104 >

————————————————————————————————————————————

"Wait system, isn't the locked giant deer I saw earlier? Why is it showing as locked here?". Deryn asked as he was a little confused.

< CORRECT HOST. HOWEVER, THE HOST DOES NOT KNOW THE CREATURES GIVEN NAME AND/OR TITLE AND THEREFORE DOESN'T HAVE THE REQUIRED INFORMATION TO HAVE IT DISPLAYED FOR YOU >

" Right, information again."

< INFORMATION IS ONE OF THE KEYS TO SURVIVAL HOST >

"Noted, thank you system... now open up the system store," Deryn said while rubbing his hands together with the biggest grin on his face.

————————————————————————————————————————————

< STORE: SYSTEM >

Advent Points = 104

< PURCHASABLE (3104) >

————————————————————————————————————————————

"System, it's going to take forever going through those options, is there anything you recommend me to get?".

< SYSTEM CAN GIVE HOST RECOMMENDATION TO HOST. IT WILL HOWEVER COST HOST (5) ADVENT POINTS TO USE THIS FEATURE. DOES HOST CONFIRM: Y/N >

"Yes, no point being stingy now" Deryn muttered. He knew that whatever the system suggested would be useful to the current him, plus it saved time so it was a win-win, minus the 5 points of course.

————————————————————————————————————————————

< THERE ARE THREE PACKAGES AVAILABLE FOR YOU THAT THE SYSTEM HAS SELECTED TO CHOOSE FROM, THE PACKAGES MERELY CONTAIN DIFFERENT ITEMS FROM THE STORE BUT ARE PUT INTO ONE PACKAGE FOR CONVENIENCE >

< A: SPEAR PACKAGE: A trainee spearman experience book (25), uncommon spear (24) and spearman's skill: Phantom lunge (50). TOTAL AP = 99 >

< B: COMPANION PACKAGE: A Silver Hawk pet egg (65), beast tamer manual (25) and growth kibble x3 (9). TOTAL AP = 99 >

< C. GACHA PACKAGE: Silver chest (50), Iron chest (25) and wooden chest x2 (20). TOTAL AP = 95 >

————————————————————————————————————————————

"Can you tell me more about the items system?"

< NEGATIVE HOST, NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION FOR DETAILS OF ITEMS TO BE DISPLAYED TO THE HOST. HOWEVER, THE ITEMS THE SYSTEM HAS SHOWN HOST ARE THE MOST DIRECT WAY TO INCREASE HOSTS STRENGTH AT THE MOMENT >

"Information again, aiyyy..." Deryn sighed.

Deryn put some careful thought into the options he had before him. The Gacha package right away relied on luck, it gave three different rarities of the chest and had the potential to be the most cost-effective out of the three. There was also the chance though that he could get garbage or something that didn't suit the current him.

The Companion package interested Deryn. Having a hawk sounded pretty awesome and the beast tamer manual sounded cool, but he didn't know if it would have a direct increase in his survivability. Just like the Gacha option, there was too much unknown about the reward that it didn't seem too worth it for the current him.

His gaze lastly fell to the Spear package. This gave him a new stronger spear, a skill (the first one he has seen) and a trainee spearman experience book. He was interested in this option. It would give him a definite increase in survivability with a better spear and the skill: phantom lunge. This was the safest option out of the three.

Deryn sat at the kitchen table lost in thought. The pros and cons of each option flashed through his mind. A light lit up in his eyes before he chose his option.

< DING >

< HOST HAS CHOSEN THE SPEAR PACKAGE. CONFIRM Y/N >

" Yes."
