Chapter - Bonus 1

Sean

My life has gone accordingly. It has always been smooth sailing for me. Go to college. Graduate. Start a job. Work. And live life. I love to have my life in order. I eat. I sleep. And I work. My life would be perfect if there weren’t any surprises. I hate surprises. And my childhood friend is master of them all. He’s prone to surprises, big or small, and draws them in like moth’s to light. I’ve had my fair share of them. Hunter is a magnet to them and I’ve had to succumb to them in our friendship. He’s childish say the least but even that isn’t a bad thing. Since she come here my peace has shattered. Hunter is more prone to accidents than usual. And I have to clean them up.

It has been a week since [Name] arrived. Orion has been beside her since she come here, never leaving her side. I don't mind as long as they don't bother me. No, they're not the one bothering me. Instead there is one huge problem. And that problem is Hunter.

"Why didn't she pick me? I'm a good choice, right? I can have anything I want so why can't I have her? Sean are you even listening??" I sigh and glance at Hunter.

"I'm busy. Go bother someone else."

"I'm not bothering! I'm not!" Hunter argues back childishly.

"You are acting childishly."

"Am not!"

"Hunter."

"But I wanted to be the one! Why aren't you doing anything? Why are you just sitting there? Don't you want to be chosen?"

"Of course I wanted to be chosen. But she chose to be with Orion so you have to respect her wishes."

"But-"

"I have to do my work, go to your friends." Hunter's expression saddened and he then walks away. I look after him but then force myself to continue working. Work is more important after all.

"William Blake?"

"Here."

"Jack Frost?"

"Here."

"Hunter Riddle?" I look at the classroom my eyes searching for the blue-haired boy only to find his seat empty. I furrow my brows but start the class.

After the class ends I go to search for Hunter. After searching for a good 10 minutes I finally find him. I'm about to call for him but I'm intrupted by his classmate.

"Give us some money. You wanted friends, right?"

"But... I can't..."

"Fucking homo."

"I-I'm not!"

"Nobody wants to be your friend if you are like that. Now be a good boy and give us the money." One of the boys says attacking Hunter.

"What is going on here?" I intrup the boys. The boys flinch and Hunter looks at me surprised. The boys start to mumble something along the line of 'it's nothing' and 'we were just messing out'.

"You three, don't even think you can get away with this. Maybe after detention you understand not to bully someone smaller than you." I say with a stoic voice. The boys left leaving me and Hunter alone. I look after the boys my face expressionless.

"You didn't have to intervene. I could have been fine on my own." Hunter says sulking.

"Really?" I say lifting my brow.

"Yes. Really."

"Well you can't do anything about it now." Hunter looks at me annoyed his mouth open.

"Your school ended, right?" Hunter nods his face puzzled. I grab him on his shoulder and start to drag him towards my car. We go inside and I start the car. I drive out of the parkinglot and towards Hunter's home.

We drive in silence, Hunter is sulking and looking at the window.

"Are your parents at home?" I ask Hunter.

"No." I frown at Hunters answer but won't say anything.

"It's better this way..." Hunter says.

"Is it really?"

I park in front of Hunter's house. Hunter looks at the window for a while before he takes the seatbelt off and opens the door. We go inside Hunter's home in silence. I look at Hunter for a while my gaze following him. He doesn't look angry anymore but now he seems to be out of it - lost inside his mind.

"Let's make some dinner. What do you want to eat?" I ask opening the fridge. Hunter is sitting at the table frowning.

"I don't want anything." Hunter says.

"You have to eat something, Hunter."

"I'm not hungry."

"I bet you didn't eat anything at lunch like usual so you have to eat now. You know that it's not healthy."

"But-!"

"No buts Hunter. I'll make you dinner so you will eat it." Hunter starts to sulk and puts his head between his arms at the table. I took some vegetables from fridge and start to cut them.

After the meal is ready I put it on the plate and give the plate to Hunter. After a while Hunter starts to eat so I sit down in front of Hunter, watching him eat. I look as Hunter's angry face turns into saddened one as he still keeps eating the food I made. I know that look, but I can't say anything what would make it better. Then Hunter starts to smile a sad smile and looks at me for a second.

"Thank you for being here." He then turns his head down looking at the now empty plate. I look at him for a while before answering.

"You don't need to thank me for that. I know that you won't say that to probably anyone. Good boy." I say patting his head smiling. Hunter looks at me shocked his cheeks red. Cute. After realising what I just thought I took my hand away and cough in my hand cheeks lightly red.

"Are you still hungry?"

"No, I'm good. But do you know why no one likes me? My parents don't love me. My class mates think I'm good just as money source. And even [Name] hates me." He says looking down that expression on his face.

"I don't hate you." I say lifting his face and kissing his lips. Hunter shuts his eyes and I deepen the kiss. I pull away from the kiss, our breaths heavy.

"Even though you are annoying time to time." I say smiling.

"Am not!" Hunter says his cheeks puffy. I laugh at his reaction and smile at how cute he looks. Maybe that [Name] end up with Orion wasn't such a bad thing after all.
