“Why do you want them intact?”
“The prawns will look better when served with their tails and head attached. Also, they are more flavorful if they are cooked with their heads on because the fats are in there.”
“I see. I didn’t know that.”
“Are you done with that piece? I’ll show you how to devein it before you proceed.”
“Yes.”
“Now, flip the prawn, so that its topside is facing upwards this time,” said Guy from behind Mochi. “Hold it firmly and cut a slit again from here.” He traces a straight line with his pointer from just below the head up to the tail. His other hand, meanwhile, is around Mochi’s waist. “Don’t cut too deep though."
“Got it,” answered Mochi, not even attempting to stop Guy from his concealed flirting.
“Just tell me if I am breaking your concentration. I’ll stop,” said Guy.
