As he drives his sedan towards the house that Ren had left them, with Nana Bea and Yuna on the back, Mil can’t help but think on what is in store for them once they get there.
“Where are we going, nong?” asked Nana Bea. Yuna is sleeping on her lap as they speed through the highway.
“To Ren's house in the city, Ma.” Mil has to decelerate as they are approaching a toll booth.
“Ren has a house in the city? He never told me that.”
“He declared in his will that it be transferred to your name.”
“You knew about this?”
“Not until recently when the bank where the house was mortgaged called. They told me that it has been fully paid,” lied Mil, sticking to what he promised Ren. “After that, I had to fix the paperwork to transfer the ownership to you.”
“I see.”
“If it was up to you, Ma, what kind of house do you like?”
