"Go through the back gate, I don't want to bump into father or ma limping like this."


Ashton drives his car through the back gate and helps Liya into her house through the backyard. His heart leaps when he finds Mae sitting in the library-room connecting the backyard. 


Mae looks up from her book to glance at the clock to spot Liya and Ashton walking towards her together. She notices Ashton's hand around Liya's waist and her arm on his shoulder before her limping leg.


"What happened?" Mae rushes to help Liya.


"Just a sprain, nothing else," responds Liya. Ashton and Mae exchange uneasy glances. 


"I fell back while trying to deflect him-"


"What? Why did you have to deflect him?" Mae glares at Ashton who makes an innocent face.


"We were fencing and I twisted my ankle in that process."


"FENCING?" Mae lets out a confused laugh. "That is so random. I thought you both went out on a date?"
