Liya sprints to the other side of the hall, holding her dress a little higher to allow movement. "Chris, Rue! Wait up!" She runs to meet her friends who were leaving.
"Hey Lee!" Chris walks towards her with open arms. "Our luckiest bride, how are you?"
Liya gives Chris a quick hug. "Lucky and bride can't belong to the same line. How are you guys doing?"
Rue hugs Liya. "Decent. What's up?"
"A lot," sighs Liya. "Do you have time?"
"Of course!" Chris puts his arm around Liya's shoulders. "Let's grab dinner? It's been long since we all caught up."
Chris and Rue were the only friends Liya considered to be very close with and connected to. They met in Law school and immediately clicked, as if meeting a childhood friend. Although they've known each other only for a few years, they have an intimate bond.
"So, was the ball of any use?" asks Rue, taking a sip of the mocktail.
"Did you meet anyone?" questions Chris impatiently.
