"Good morning, Mae," a voice bellows into her ears. Mae opens her eyes to see Ashton sleeping in front of her, at a distance. She wakes up horrified, getting reminded of a too familiar incident.
"Ouch!" she shrieks as her body aches from last night. She clutches her abdomen and falls flat on her stomach. Robin chuckles, gently brushing his fingers over her back.
"Pain is good," whispers Robin into her ears.
"I feel so sore," whines Mae as she looks at Ashton sleeping peacefully. "Where is Liya?"
"She's outside making us coffee. I'll go and give her a hand–I just came to see if you've woken up." Robin gets up and leaves the tent.
Mae squirms in her sleeping bag for some time, making low whimpering noises as she prepares to get up. Ashton gets disturbed by the sounds and wakes up.
"Mae? Are you ok?"
"Not really. My body stings when I move. Feels like I ran a marathon yesterday all of a sudden."
