Chapter 96 - Word

"To prove that I really gave my word, I'll introduce you to my family right now!" screams Mae into Robin's ears.

"That's not required, Mae. I believe you."

"But I want to," nags Mae like a child.

"We can do that some other time, when you're not reeking of alcohol."

"Oh god! No!" exclaims Mae, passing out on Robin. He holds her for some time as she rests on him, snoring softly. He glances at his watch to realise it's very late.

"Mae?" He wakes her up gently. "We need to go home."

"I'm very sleepy. Can we stay here please?"

"Mae…" He picks her up and carries her outside the club into his car. He makes her lie down on the back seat and gets in to drive.

"This is so comfortable. I'll sleep here, thank you."

"Mae, are you feeling nauseous?"

"No. I feel fine."

Robin drives across the empty roads, glancing at the rearview mirror often to make sure Mae has not gone unconscious. "Mae, we are here."

She wakes up from her deep nap. "Already?"
