chapter 22

she was going to be blind for the rest of her life because nobody here was able to dispel the illusion.

"you did that, correct?" Gaia asked me.

"yup. she tried looking at my soul, she's lucky I didn't kill her and her real body," I said nodding my head.

"am I missing something," Hestia asked

"Nothing besides Freya trying to look at my soul, so in exchange, I made her permanently blind," I told her.

"Isn't that too cruel," Hestia said horrified.

"I think it's fair. you gods have been doing what you wanted and I think that it's only fair that you have a taste of your own medicine," Gaia responded.

"don't worry there are people who can release it," I said.

'not in this dimension though,' I thought sadistically.

did you say that I was going to leave her like that for a long time otherwise she would stir peeping at other people's souls and then she would get stronger and that wouldn't be good?

we were eating peacefully and everything when the Loki Familia decided to finally come over. I knew that it wasn't hostile so I didn't do anything about it.

I listened to their trashy insults and ate in peace when I saw a certain green-haired elf accompanying them.

I slide over some soda and said," do they do this often," as I nudged my head towards Hestia and Loki who were comparing the breast.

she looked at the soda suspiciously before taking a curious sip, which caused her eyes to widen a bit.

"every time they meet," was all she said.

"I hear you pretty good with magic," I said taking a sip of my soda.

she looked over at me and began staring at me as if noticing something off about me.

"... your not a normal adventurer, are you," she asked while eyeing me up and down.

"If you look at me like that your going to make me blush," I said pretending to hide my face behind my hands.

of course, it was an act and Riveria also knew this so she didn't play along to it.

I shrugged and pulled out my map and started to make tweaks to show which monsters were spawning where. I also listed where the irregular monsters appeared regularly.

"is that the map," I heard Riveria ask excitedly.

I looked up and could her practically drooling over it. (metaphorically)

"an unfinished version of it," I said not losing focus of what I was doing.

"how does it work," she said as she began to inspect the device.

"well to see the map all you need is mana, but to activate the hidden feature.... you'll need my permission," I explained.

the more I explained it the more she wanted to know, however it was still getting late so I had to leave.

"you humans get excited about trivial things," Gaia said.

"what can I say besides your welcome," I joked as I opened the door.

I took her to the spare room we had and I waited till everyone was sleeping before putting on my outfit and teleporting to the nearby roof.

I killed the remaining Evilus group and even went into the blacklight district to kill some people over there.

tomorrow night I decided to take care of Ishtar. I noticed Hermes standing on one of the walls and I went up there and knocked out asfi and walked quietly behind him.

"you should always watch your back," I said laying on the wall.

I put him and the person hiding in a genjutsu so they would see my face blurred out and I had different hair.

"I knew you would come," he said looking over at e.

"I came with a warning.... if you don't listen to me I will have to put you on some leashes," I threatened.

"That's not justice," I heard a voice say I turned to see a woman with long walnut brown hair and gorgeous indigo eyes.

"Everyone has their own sense of justice, mine is just more permanent," I said pulling out my pen and spinning it in my fingers.

she walked towards the ledge and I grabbed Hermes and teleported him to the guild, so we can have a proper conversation.

"what remarkable abilities you have," she said looking back at me.

I stopped the illusion and walked next to her.

"what do you need," I said looking off in the distance.

*sigh*

"... there's terrible ... people in the west and normally I would have them change, but the things are so horrible that they won't change," she said as she looked into my eyes.

"so you need my help," I asked.

"well I don't like killing but they have taken a whole city hostage and I need to save them," she pleaded.

"how far will you go for my help," I said inching closer to her.

"i- I have money so I can pay you for your services," she said desperately.

I was still going to help her but I was just messing around and waiting for something to do.

"what if I want something else... something more intimate," I said lifting her chin to meet my eyes.

her eyes showed fear and she backed away quickly while maintaining eye contact.

"i-," she stuttered.

"I'll let you think about it," I said with a wink before I disappeared into the mist while leaving a note with my address.

I appeared back home and washed away the blood I had and went to sleep.

....

I woke up and put on a tank top and I checked in on Gaia who looked like she was going to sleep for another 70 years.

I heard knocking at the door and went to answer it to see astrea standing there with a flushed face.

"I'll do it," she yelled.

I guess self-sacrificial people really will do anything to protect the people.
