the general’s return

"How is she?" As soon as Sam entered his office, he saw Kepler. His aide hesitated at first, but after a couple of minutes of working silently by Sam's side, he got the courage to ask him.

"She has regained consciousness," Sam answered, sparing Kepler a glance before refocusing on the document in front of him,

"All that's left for her to do is rest."Kepler nodded, and then silence descended upon them once more.

It was a heavy silence, one Sam thought perfectly suited how he was currently feeling.

His hand went back and forth from the inkwell on his desk, writing down a list of things he had to do now he had to draw up yet another plan. He had roughly thought about the string of orders he would be giving out in order to follow through with their next course of action.

After he was done, he took out another piece of paper and wrote on that one too. He folded the paper neatly and after sealing the letter, he passed it along to Kepler.
