Sam observed as Kiera instructed a couple of Beasts a few yards away from their tent. Her arms were crossed and her face took on a seriousness. She was a natural born leader, someone who could rapidly interchange from giving out orders to taking charge, a trait that is rarely seen. Sam himself had to work hard on himself to develop into a leadership role. Luckily for him, Lucy was there to give him the push he needed after his mother's death.
He smiled, remembering all the training he had to endure. Lucy was a tough person to please. His lessons were different from the formal classes he took while overseas which were about politics and various other subjects that were essential for nobles to learn, Lucy taught him how to read people. She taught him how to mask his emotions and how to make the most convincing lie. More importantly, she taught him how to look beyond what is in the present and work towards a greater goal.
