Chapter – 172 (Seer)

Cassandra stood rooted on her spot for few minutes trying to process what Primis just said. Daphne, who was by her side, was also shocked. Soon Cassandra came back to her thoughts and looked at Primis with nervous expression. She suddenly had a bad premonition.
Cassandra: W-What do y-you mean b-by that?
Primis: Your ability to see the future is not as simple as it appeared to be.
Cassandra: ...…
Cassandra eyes opened wide when she heard that.
Cassandra: H-How do y-you that I c-can see f-future?
Primis: Nothing can be hidden from my eyes.
Every skill or ability had a type of code or sequence. When you got a skill or ability then code or sequence covered your DNA hence gave you that skill. Like how you threw a needle in oil. Even if you took it out, needle will still be coated with the oil. In this, needle is your DNA while that oil is your skill. That's how someone obtained or possessed a skill.
Now then let's say you have 10 million needles. These needles were all your DNA. In front of you there were many cups, Jug, buckets, and tanks of different sizes. Everyone single one of them possessed some kind of liquid in it. That liquids are skills. To obtain a skill you need to throw the needles in it. And yes not "needle" but "needles".
If you want a skill you need to make sure that all the content of that cup, Jug, buckets, and tanks coated the needles. In other words, to coat all the contents of a cup you might need some tens or hundreds of needles. The number of needles needed increased as you go from cup to Jug to bucket and to tank.
Cups contains low-level skills. Jugs contain Middle-level skills. Buckets contain High-level skills. Tanks contain Top-level skills. Cup needs tens or hundreds of needles per skill. Jug needs thousands or tens of thousands of needles per skill. Bucket needs hundred thousand of needles per skill. And Tanks need millions of needles per skill. But the main thing is, your limit is 10 million "only".
You can either learn a lot of low-level skills or one/two top-level skills. Still, once all the 10 million needles were used up, you can't learn anymore skill. That's your limit. The same is the case for Primis, his Permanent-Members(Ophis, Sheng Ming, and Ais), and his Half-Members(Lili and Haruhime). This shows how strong their skills are.
Anyway, there is a specific skill that almost everyone knows. I mean all you readers. Appraisal. Appraisal will let you see the skills, levels, strength, and overall information of the thing or people you use it on. What Appraisal do is read this very sequence which coated ones DNA. Hence accurately pinpoint what that skill or thing is.
Now if some of you must be thinking that non-living things don't contain DNA. So, how could Appraisal accurately identify them? Well, we will talk more about it in future chapters. Otherwise, this entire chapter will be about Appraisal. So, let's return to Primis for now. Just like Appraisal the same thing can be done with "Elemental Sight" but on even micro details. That's why Primis can quite easily tell the skills one possesses.
So, why I explain Appraisal skill even this much? It's because almost 85% of all the Fate ones possesses or will possess this skill. And this skill will help them drastically at everything even fighting.
Primis: Unlike other divinatory who can only guess the future events, you can saw them don't you? And it might have saved your life too on many occasions.
Cassandra nodded her head in confirmation. Her future seeing ability really helped her many times.
Primis: This skill you possess is called Seer.
Cassandra: Seer?
Primis: Yes. The difference between divinatory and seer is that. For example, if you want to find something or looking for someone or a place that can help you, Divination can roughly tell where you have high chances of finding them. In other words, they are telling you about the things which are already present in "present".
Cassandra: ...…
Primis: Whereas Seer can accurately see the future with 100% correction. This means since you already know the exact future...…
Cassandra: You can change it.
Primis: Exactly.
Cassandra became silent. Because it's exactly what Primis said. In past, she had seen my future events which led to her death but since she already knew "how", she was able to prevent those scenarios. That's why she was still alive until now. While Cassandra was thinking about it, Daphne at the side was so shocked that her jaw fell on the ground. She never believed in Cassandra visions until now. However, since "The Black Swordsman" said it and seeing Cassandra reaction, it appeared that everything Cassandra told her about her future visions were true. As a result, Daphne gaze towards Cassandra became complicated.
'Daphne: I am Cassandra best friend, yet I didn't believe her. *sigh* What kind of best friend I am.'
However, Cassandra didn't have time to look at Daphne right now. She raised her head, looked at Primis before hastily speaking.
Cassandra: Is this power of "Seer" the reason why you said I didn't have many years left to live?
Primis: Yes. Time is fragile. If someone try to change it, then that person and the entire world must face severe consequences. Even Gods need to be extreme wary when it comes to time let alone mortals. However, there is an exception.
Cassandra: Seer.
Primis nodded his head and continued.
Primis: "Seer" can see and change the future without facing such consequences. Yet, think about it. If you can do something that's even difficult for Gods, don't you have to pay a price for it.
Cassandra: What price?
Primis: Your life.
Cassandra: !!!!!!!!!
Primis: Every time you use "Seer" consciously or unconsciously like in dream your very life force is being used as a fuel instead of your magic. As a result, you currently have 8 or so years left to life. And this time will decrease as you kept on using it.
All color drained of Cassandra face when she heard this. She was still young and just 18 years old. 8 years more mean she could only live till 26. And that was if her life won't decrease more in coming years. Cassandra legs turned jelly. She was having hard time standing and almost fell. Good thing Daphne, who was by her side, came and caught her.
Cassandra: H-How could t-this be?
Cassandra said in trembling voice. Primis who was looking at both shook his head.
{Sheng Ming & Ais: Husband/Lord, is what you said true?}
{Primis: Yes.}
As Sheng Ming and Ais started to ponder about it, Primis cut the connection with them since he can sense Ophis wanted to talk about something.
{Ophis: Seer not only live less but they also are extremely rare, isn't it? Because you were somewhat surprised when you realized that this human is Seer not divinatory.}
{Primis: Correct. They are extremely, extremely rare. In this Group, there are countless universes. But still only 1% of them ever gave birth to a Seer.}
Since Ophis was once a Wächter, she already knew the information about Groups and Existences. So, she was not surprised when Primis used Group in between their conversation.
{Ophis: And they are all dead, right?}
{Primis: Right. If the news of Seer is known, everyone tries to get their hands on them.}
{Ophis: Or to kill them.}
Primis nodded and continued.
{Primis: Granting that Seer can lead you to rise, it means others will fall. Hence, in case people failed to get their hands on them, they prefer to kill them.}
{Ophis: Doesn't matter much. Even those who get their hands on Seer always force them to tell their future again and again. As a result, they died faster again.}
{Primis: Agreed. It doesn't matter who get their hands on Seer, they always led them to their death.}
{Ophis: Mn.}
Primis: It will better if you don't tell others of you being a Seer. Otherwise, even Gods all around the world will do everything in their hands to get you. No matter the price.
Cassandra trembled again hearing this. Now even Daphne knew how serious her best friend situation is. Primis then walked past them to the door of Blue Pharmacy.
Daphne: W-Wait. Is there a w-way to help Cassandra?
Daphne looked at Primis back with hopeful eyes. Even Cassandra raised her head and looked at Primis. Primis paused for a second then opened the door of Blue Pharmacy and entered without replying.

Daphne and Cassandra could look at the closed door while remaining seated on floor hugging each other.
