Chapter 12: Trending Constitution

"Leaving the police station.

A low-key SUV is parked at the entrance of the station.

The man in front of the vehicle is pacing anxiously, filled with worry.

Caroline Edwin, "Rex."

Hearing the sound, he lifts his head, bends his waist and jogs over, "Carol, it's so cold today, why are you out wearing so little? What if you catch a cold?"

He drapes the jacket he's holding onto Caroline Edwin, curving his index finger, and looks her up and down seriously.

Seeing she's not hurt, he breathes a sigh of relief. He glances guiltily around and pulls her hastily into the vehicle.

Caroline Edwin sits in the back of the car, removing her draped pink jacket and tossing it to one side.

She removes her black earphones, coiling them around her phone, and closes her eyes to rest.

Rex Leanne sits in the driver's seat, struggles to find the right words, then cautiously asks, "Carol, why were you called to the police station?"

"I didn't do anything illegal."

Caroline Edwin opens her tightly closed eyes, meeting Rex Leanne's worried gaze in the rearview mirror.

Upon getting reassurance, Rex Leanne's tense face relaxes. He wipes the sweat from his forehead, "Oh, that's good, that's good."

Just as he is about to start the car, the phone won't stop vibrating, constantly chiming with new messages.

Rex Leanne becomes uneasy.

He opens Twitter and as expected, good news never goes beyond the gate, while bad news spreads far and wide. Caroline Edwin's name has monopolized the Twitter Trends.

The night-owl netizens are eagerly spilling the tea deep into the night.

[Caroline Edwin cornered the Trends all day long, truly worthy of the Trend follower status.]

[Did she really do drugs? There are many celebrities in the circle who do this to relieve stress.]

[What's the use of keeping a scandalous artist like that bitch Caroline? Not banning her while waiting to celebrate the New Year? @National Film and Television Bureau]

[that bitch Caroline, roll out! I'm so annoyed seeing all the Trends about her.]

[After Carson interfere in Anna Morrison's feelings, Caroline gets summoned for drug abuse. That bitch Caroline every action just shakes my values.]

[Protect our Anna. Please don't involve Anna, let our Anna be beautiful alone.]

...

Rex Leanne turns off his phone, grumbling a little resentfully, "What are these netizens talking nonsense, how could Carol possibly use drugs?"

Caroline Edwin browses the comments on the internet, all of which are slurs from Anti-fans. She caresses her phone screen with one hand, "the more I get angry, the more wrinkles appear."

"I just put on my mask... mustn't get angry, mustn't get angry..."

Rex Leanne touches his face, frightened, drops his phone, pulls out his compact mirror, and carefully inspects the area around his eyes.

After browsing, she finds that except for Anti-fans, there are only Anti-fans. Forget about whitewashing, there's not even objective comments. It's obviously a group of professional haters.

The comments are showing suspicious data, it's very likely they've been defamed by internet ghostwriters.

Caroline Edwin's elegantly lifted eyes are sharp and piercing. She logs into her Twitter account with a flick of her slender finger.

Caroline Edwin V: [If I'm rich, I'd share it with you, later I'll help you make a fortune.]

Netizens: ?????

Leaving a cryptic message, she picks up the jacket lying next to her, covers her legs, and goes back to sleep.

Rex Leanne pinches his own dewy skin, drops his compact mirror and starts mumbling like a hen, "Carol, aren't you worried?"

Is Carol feeling so desperate she doesn't even want to refute anymore? Waaaa... why is Carol's life so tragic?

"Don't worry, let's rest for a bit first." Caroline Edwin leans back against her seat."
