Chapter 165: Water Nurtures All Things

Caroline Edwin went upstairs, put the compass, wooden sword, and talisman into a plastic bag and carried it downstairs with one hand.

It took an hour and a half of riding her falcon to arrive at this old and abandoned park in the Shore District on the outskirts of the city.

As it had been left unmaintained for a long time, the park's steps were covered in moss, the trees were lush and vibrant, the grass in the forest grew up to the height of a person's shin, and the air was fresh.

The park was quiet and eerily still, which produced a sense of fear. Occasionally, a bird's cry would break the silence and dispel some of the terror.

Caroline opened the plastic bag and took out a crudely made compass.

The needle on the dial trembled violently due to the strong magnetic field and only stopped after a minute, pointing towards the south side of the park.

Following the direction indicated by the compass, she walked straight ahead until she reached a deep well and stopped in her tracks.
