Chapter 214: It Really Is My Family's Business

Lake High School.

Grade Ⅱ3 Class.

The teacher stood at the podium in the classroom, analyzing the physics exam papers from last week, with the room as quiet as a church, occasionally interrupted by a slight rustle of papers.

Joan Edwin lay on the desk, limp as if boneless, playing with a pen in his hand, his eyes squinting but not asleep.

A few faint whispers came from behind him, and his squinted eyes opened, clearly annoyed, as he put down the pen.

"Did you hear? The plane Caroline Edwin was on almost crashed."

"I know, I know. It was Caroline who saved the day by taking control of the plane and landing it safely with everyone on board."

"I don't know why you're getting so excited about her. She didn't die, but she caused Anna to be rejected by the show. She's like a jinx."

...

The whispers behind him occasionally contained malicious curses and slander.

With a scowl, Joan Edwin jumped up, turned to face the girls sitting behind him, his defiant face filled with anger.
