A woman in a black dress emerged with her hair styled in an updo. She wore a string of pearls around her neck, exuding a simple yet noble and dignified aura, reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn from the last century.

Standing beside Alison Thomson was a man dressed in a black tuxedo. Time had been most kind to him, as his face bore minimal traces of aging.

She was linked arm in arm with him as they descended the stairs.

The lights in the hall came back on.
