The two left the rooftop.

Walking side by side in the corridor, Samuel Quentin furrowed his brow, clenching and unclenching his fists, as he gathered courage to speak up.

"Caroline, she's not inherently evil. Can you not hurt her?"

He clearly remembered Emily Well's eyes - pure and clean, as if incapable of lies. She was kind-hearted and had never harmed anyone.

"Oh? Am I that cruel?"

Caroline Edwin smirked, hands in her pockets. She exuded an air of lazy elegance like a noble cat.

"...Well, not exactly."

Samuel Quentin lowered his head, despising himself for asking such a pointless question.

Reaching the door of their room, he took out the card key from his pocket and swiped it in, only for the temperature inside the room to suddenly drop.

The air was filled with tumultuous fury, making it feel as though his pores were being infinitely enlarged, and a chill ran down his spine.
