Chapter 844: It's Better to Have a Lighter Diet

Seeing her like this, Nathaniel Daniel had mixed feelings, partly consoled but also bitter.

He lifted his hand to her head and gently massaged the top of her hair.

"Carol, your uncle is proud of you. Always remember to measure your abilities when saving others; your family doesn't want anything to happen to you," he said.

She was his blood relative, with a quarter of the same blood flowing through her veins.

He watched as she went from babbling to staggering, growing into a graceful young woman, now capable and courageous.

Decades of affection were deeply engraved in his bones, and seeing the video that had gone viral online made his heart ache and oppressed.

Thankfully... she was in the end unharmed.

"Uncle, I understand," she said.

Caroline Edwin, with an unadorned face, showed no signs of pretense and sincerely took his words to heart, nodding with a smile.

"Hmm."

Nathaniel Daniel responded, containing his multitude of complex emotions, and handed her a slice of apple.
