Chapter 862: That's Not Love

Caroline Edwin walked over and sat down on the bench, casually swinging her cross-legged leg and smirking with light disdain as her red lips slightly parted.

She leaned forward, propped her cheek with one hand, and nonchalantly arched her slender eyebrows.

"Love? Because you loved her too much, you wanted her to drown with you and become your ghost bride after death?"

Her tone was so certain it wasn't a question.

Upon hearing her analysis, Violette Jules looked utterly stunned, stepping back twice and murmuring lowly, "No... that's not love. He doesn't understand what love is at all. It's just selfish and possessive desire."

This fearful response deeply agitated Eugene Gerald, who was unable to move, his hands clenched into tight fists.

"How is it not love?! Since you started gaining recognition, competing in the swimming races, I've been watching you. I've seen all of your competitions, large and small, without missing a single one!"
