Chapter 2

On the next morning, Taria had a shower and drank her coffee so she would be able to handle the long day after a sleepless night. She tried to cover her dark circles with makeup, but it wasn't really working, then she wore her uniform, and headed out to school.

" what's wrong? You haven't slept at all, have you?", Taria's friend said

"Last night was unbelievable, Mia", Taria said

"What happened? Have you gone to a bar or something?", Mia said

"You know that I can't drink. What would I do at a bar?", Taria said, putting her head on the desk as she felt her head was heavy, but before she could relax, her annoying classmate came.

"Oh. It seems like you had a bad night. Were you thinking about your parents who abandoned you?" the voice she hated the most said, making her regretting coming to school.

Taria would usually feel normal after hearing these words since she was the one who told everyone that her parents abandoned her, but after what happened last night, she felt that the words she used to hear opened a deep old wound in her heart again.

"Leave her alone, Georg", Mia said

"I didn't say anything wrong. I was just trying to remind her of some GOOD memories", Georg said, feeling the joy in teasing them both.

After Taria heard him saying that, she felt her blood running through her veins, and she felt furious. Her body moved alone, and she punched the window beside her, leaving it broken and leaving her hand badly wounded. Taria walked to the clinic alone while her hand was bleeding, she got treated, and she got scolded by her room teacher, then she left the school, hiding so many bad feeling behind a steady face.

When Taria was walking out of the school gate, a black car stopped in front of her, then "the brother" from last night asked her to get in the car. She was so tired to argue with anyone, and she already wanted to go anywhere away from the school, so she got into the car without saying anything.

"He is waiting for you. Don't say anything that would make him feel bad" the man said when they reached his brother's apartment, then Taria nodded her head and entered. The man was sitting on his bed, reading a book while the sunlight was shining through his hair, which was a very different side of him than the one she saw last night. When he saw her, he got out of bed and asked her to follow him to the living room

"Is it ok for you to walk? Is your leg better now?", Taria asked

"Yes, it's better. Thanks for your concerns, and thank you for everything you did last night" he said, handing a jewelry box to her.

Taria froze for a moment before she took the box, but when she opened it, her tears started falling without her permission.

"I knew that it was important to you when I saw your face when you were giving it to the taxi driver. I made it into a necklace since wearing one earring is weird, but you can turn it back to its normal shape easily. Wait, why are you crying? Hey hey don't cry, I will turn it back to an earring now", the man said with a voice that wasn't as cold as last night, but still not friendly

"No, sniff, thank you so much for bringing it back, sniff, thank you", Taria said with a shaky voice

"Then why are you crying? Does your hand hurt? What about your shoulder? I asked Ve to pay for the broken window so you don't have to worry about that", the man said

"How did you know?", Taria asked, holding her tears back as the man's words surprised her

"Ve told me that your shoulder seemed to be in a bad condition last night", the man said

"No. Not that, about the window", Taria asked

"Oh. Well, it's because we didn't get to know each other last night. My name is Tian, and I'm your senior at school, nice to meet you", Tian said with a fixed face

"Wait wait wait, are you THAT Tian? The one who plays basketball", Taria said while her eyes got wider

"Yup, that's me. What's your name?", Tian said

"Oh, I'm Taria, nice to meet you", Taria said

"Well, Taria, I hope you don't say anything about last night to anyone. It would became complicated if you did", Tian said

"Don't worry. I don't go around talking about other people. Thank you again for bringing back the earring. I will be leaving now", Taria said

Taria couldn't stop smiling while she was walking out of the building, but she suddenly remembered that she should go back to school, and her smile faded. She made a ring with her fingers and pointed it towards the sun, then she started running towards the bus station.

Tian was watching her from the balcony, and when he saw her doing that, he smiled without realizing, but his brother's voice saying "I never knew you would be good towards anyone" brought back his expressionless face.

"She helped me a lot last night, I just wanted to do that so I won't ow her anything", Tian said coldly

"You shouldn't have entered her house last night, she might be in a huge danger if she was seen helping you. You have to keep an eye on her, we never get innocents people involved", Ve said, and Tian nodded his head.
