"I'm very proud of you, Drake." ,said one of the scientist.

"Thank you, sir. I have always dreamed about coming here and I will fulfill my responsibilities." ,said Drake.

"Very well."

The scientist introduced him to everyone in the lab. After few people, he came towards a certain someone and said,

"This is Carl."

He was his roommate.

Drake and Carl both shook hands.

"Hi. I think I have seen you somewhere before." ,said Drake.

"Oh yes. I used to work with your father when he was here." ,said Carl.

"He was at the funeral too." ,said the scientist.

"Oh, I see. Nice to meet you." ,said Drake.

"Carl was your father's assistant and his father's too." ,said Drake.

"Thanks for being there for him."

"No problem, Drake." ,said Carl.

In the present, Janice was awake. She had stated her meditation 1 week ago. It has been 3 weeks after that incident. Carl is telling her what had happened. She was communicating through notebook.

Carl stops talking when she starts writing on the notebook.

"Hello, Carl.

My name is Janice."

"Oh right, You didn't know my name. I'm sorry. But I knew your name the whole time. Drake used to tell me about you back then."

He starts talking again.

So, Carl and Drake started working together. They were working on a given experiment But one day, Carl took him into the basement. Down there was another lab but a little dusty.

"Can I trust you with this?"

"With what? What is this?" ,said Drake.

"I am making an antidote and I can't continue this without you in it. You are a great help."

There was a page in front of them on which a formula was written. But it was strange. The writing seemed familiar to Drake.

"Let me tell you something important but you can't share this with anyone. it should be between you and me."

"Yeah sure. What is it?" ,said Drake.

"A virus has been made." ,said Carl.

"A virus?"

"Many years ago, Few scientists started working on a virus. A virus to breed a new species of human beings and to create their own world. It was made to turn the humans into Rabies. The experiment was successful or not? No one knows. Because it was considered TOP SECRET back then. But now, I have seen it with my own eyes. The virus has activated now." ,said Carl.

"Wait. Create their own world?"

"Yes. The scientists were so indulged into science and used to believe that they can make their own world, a world that only they can control. So, they made a virus."

"Rabies as you don't mean..... ZOMBIES?"

"I'm afraid so. Nothing was found from the previous experiment that was many years ago but I found one thing."

"What is it?"

"It was written on a note that KEEP THEIR LIFE SPAN SHORT."

"So, they made zombies that will never die?"

"Yes. Note definitely means it but that couldn't be true or otherwise the world right now would be crawling with zombies."

"So, you are saying that an antidote can help?"

"Exactly." ,said Carl.

So, both of them started working on the antidote. To keep low profile about it, they started to spend most of their time in the forest after work. They will get their equipment and papers from the lab in to the forest and will work on it by sitting on a tree stump. First, there was only a tree stump but after that they built a table in between the tree stump and a tree log and made their own lab there.

After a few days, both of them were selected in to the TOP SECRET EXPERIMENT LAB where the virus was been made. But it was already done. They were summoned to witness the experiments.

"Soon we will start the experiments." ,that's what the boss said.

After witnessing the experiments for a whole week, they both started working on the antidote even more that for a few days they decided not to go home. But the very next week, in the morning, a fellow scientist saw them sneaking in to the basement and immediately told the Boss. Boss and other few scientists with bats came into the basement and started looking around. They saw bottles in every cupboard and saw the page on the desk.

"So, this was what you two were doing behind our backs?" ,said boss.

"Sir, we-" ,said Carl.

"Smash them." ,said boss.

The scientists started smashing the bottles in every cupboard. and in a flash, all the antidote was gone. This made them both feel hopeless for all the work that they had done in the past 2 years was gone.

"Now, what to do with both of you?" ,said boss'

Suddenly, a security guard came rushing in.

"Sir?!" ,said the guard.

"What?" ,said the boss by turning.

"Sir, a girl is spotted in the forest coming this way."

Boss gave the guard a confusing look then,

"Lets go." ,and all the scientists went with him.

"A girl?" ,said Carl but when he realized who she would be, it was already too late.

Drake started running towards the security room.

"It cant be." ,said Drake.

In the security room screen, he saw Janice and started running outside.

"Drake, wait!" ,said Carl.

That was when Drake accepted his punishment, to save Janice.
