Chapter 5: Let's go Hunting

*Undisclosed Location-Hunter Headquarters*

***Deep in the middle of nowhere***

A large building sat atop a medium-sized mountain, its sheer size a marvel and its presence a mystery to any adventurer who might stumble upon it which is fairly impossible considering it was shielded by high-grade illusion tech and laced with a hint of magic making the place practically invisible, making sure that those without any knowledge of the path would never come across it. Only hunters with a specific rank were made privy to the location of the headquarters located across the globe.

This headquarters was easily dozens of meters tall and completely made with glass, at least that's what it looked like, and gave off a dark eerie gleam under the dim night sky. On one of the floors, multiple cubicles could be seen filled with workers punching away on their computers. At an insignificant corner of the floor, a certain clerk was running through protocols on his computer.

"What an uneventful day, it's only the first day and I'm already bored." Ian said, slowly rubbing his neck as he let out a groan. He was nearly 6ft tall and had a slightly muscular build with blonde hair, he was what most girls would describe as handsome with his oblong face and chiseled jawline, and brown eyes.

"Quit whining Ian, we've got a whole 3 months more of this so you better get your shit together." Amelia said, she was also nearly 6ft tall, just a few inches shorter than Ian, and had jet black hair. She had a lean figure rid of fat and a nicely curved body that would make many models jealous, a pair of alluring brown eyes, and tempting lips.

"I already have my alarm clock to annoy me, a yapping twin is not what I need right now." Ian groaned in annoyance. "Why do we even have to go to school anyway, none of what we're being taught here is gonna help out on the field"

"Mom said we should go to school so we're going to school." Amelia said with an indifferent expression on her face as they slowly walked home.

"Yeah yeah yeah We need to meet people our age, relax and socialize blah blah blah." Ian muttered with an irritated expression on his face. He put his hands in his pockets and kept silent the rest of the way home.

They soon approached their home in the high-class district, theirs was a Large gray-brown 5 bedroom duplex equipped with a sizeable parking space, beautifully adorned with flowers and a medium-sized pool in the back. A black SUV and two Mustangs, one dark-blue and the other black were in the parking space.

The gate automatically opened as they approached, Ian paused slightly at the sight of the black SUV before slowly shaking his head.

"I thought she would have left by now." Ian said internally, slowly walking to the door, a little behind his sister.

"Mom, you in?" Amelia said as she entered the house, her eyes darting around before settling at the bar section of the dining.

A beautiful blond-haired woman was slowly sipping wine, her eyes slightly glazed over and unfocused. She had a beautiful round face, deep brown eyes, a thin pointy nose, cherry red lips, and had a bustier figure compared to her daughter. She was dressed in an armless red dress that accentuated her figure, her bare arms showing a slight trace of muscles. Her glazed eyes regained their focus as she gazed at her children with a smile on her face.

"We thought you would have left by now." Ian said as he approached the bar, a slight smile on his face.

"Well, I wanted to say goodbye to my beautiful twins." She said smiling lightly.

" You already said goodbye... this morning." Amelia said with a slightly raised eyebrow.

Ian silently gazed at her, choosing to keep mute.

"Well I wanted to say it again, come here" She said as she pulled them into a bear hug too quick for them to react. "My beauties"

"Gah! Mom, you're...choking me Gah!" Ian croaked, his face slowly turning another shade of colour.

"Oops, sorry honey" She giggled as she released them.

"Mom we know you're worried... but we can take care of ourselves...and Mark and Sam are just a house away, we'll be fine" Ian said after catching his breath.

"He's right Mom...we can handle ourselves...till you get back" Amelia chipped in while gasping for air.

"I know you can, I just had to deal with a few things then I just got carried away drinking." She giggled.

The front door slowly opened as two large buff men wearing dark shades entered.

"Sonia we're ready to leave." Said Dave, the taller of the duo. He was dressed in casual wear, a gray shirt, and brown jeans with a pair of boots.

"We better get a move on if we don't want to be late! Hey Ian, Amy". Said David, the shorter of the duo though that was only comparing him to Dave as he was over 6ft tall and ripped with muscles. Unlike his partner, he was dressed in a formal black suit and trousers with a white shirt and black tie. He had a scar across his right cheek that vaguely resembled claw marks.

" Hey David" Ian and Amelia said in unison

"What's up, little runts." Dave said as he smirked.

"Happy that you're leaving." Amelia said with a smile on her face.

"Same here." Ian smirked.

Dave snorted at their comment and refocused his gaze on Sonia. "Can we go now...before I strangle your kids."

" I'll meet you in the car." Sonia said with a slight smile on her face.

"Alright don't keep us waiting." David said as they both exited.

"Well, I guess I'll see you kids in a couple weeks, don't make a mess of the place while I'm gone." Sonia said as the downed the wine left in the glass. She lightly pinched their cheeks causing them to grimace in pain, she laughed as she went outside. Dave was in the black mustang and David was in the passenger seat of the SUV.

Sonia walked towards the car and got into the driver's seat, igniting the engine and slowly driving out, she waved goodbye to her kids and blew them a kiss. They waved back as both cars exited the compound and sped into the distance leaving a light trail of smoke.

"Well, there she goes." Ian said." I call dibs on the car!"

"What! No fair" Amelia yelled.

" Losers weepers" Ian laughed as he went back inside.

"Jerk." Amelia muttered as she followed after him.

*Beep* *Beep*

Nearly half an hour later, they both received a message on their phones.

"What the!" Ian yelled from the living room, his gaze fixed on the message he received.

"Well so much for relaxing." Ian said with a grin on his face.

"Ian! What do you make of this?" Amelia said as she walked down the stairs?

"Well there's nothing much to it, there's a beast in town and we have to kill it." Ian said still grinning. "Looks like I'm gonna have some fun after all."

"We have to call Mark and Sam over to discuss this." Amelia said.

"Oh I'm pretty sure they're on their way right now." Ian smirked.

Like the words of a prophet, a few minutes later they heard the doorbell ring. Ian opened the door revealing two men slightly taller than him at the door.

"I'm guessing you two already received the message as well." Mark said with a slight smile on his face. He was well over 6ft tall and had a slightly muscular build, brownish hair, and was wearing a black shirt and jeans on white shoes.

"Yeah, we did." Ian said as he let them in.

"Quite lucky I must say, missions around these parts are rare." Sam said taking a whiff of his cigarette. He was also well over 6ft tall and had the build of an athlete, he was dressed in brown pants and a white shirt with brown shoes.

"Good for us then." Ian said he led them to the basement which was renovated into a briefing room.

"I've already accepted the mission, so all we have to do is wait for the others." Ian announced.

"Don't we have to consult with Mom first?" Amelia protested with a frown on her first.

"It's a D-rank mission Amy, we can handle it and as the Leader of the Squad I can make that decision." Ian said staring straight into her eyes.

"Whatever." Amelia snorted.

"Good, we're all on board." Ian said turning to Sam and Mark. "When will the others get here."

"Chris and Minnie wouldn't be arriving until tonight and the others would be arriving tomorrow morning from their little...excursion." Sam said exhaling a puff of smoke.

"I see, well we'll plan our movement tonight then and make out move tomorrow night." Ian said after a little contemplating. "Mark contact the agent in charge and get as much intel as you can, Sam make sure we're well equipped."

"No problem." Mark said.

"Sure I got you." Sam smirked.

"Good, Amy you good with that?" Ian turned towards Amelia with a straight face.

"It's fine by me." Amelia said shrugging.

"Gentlemen, We're going hunting." Ian said with a smirk on his face and a fierce glint in his eyes.
