Accident Aftermath

Previously:

The world spun in a chaotic whirlwind of pain and confusion. Lai's vision blurred, and she tasted blood in her mouth. She couldn't move; her body felt heavy and unresponsive. Her black cap had come off her head, lying somewhere else. It was utterly destroyed.

"A-am I g-going to di-" she coughed up blood, wetting her black face mask, her breathing becoming unsteady.

Panic welled up inside her once more as she realized that she had been so focused on evading her pursuer that she had neglected the very real danger of the road. The black Mercedes that had hit her screeched to a halt a few yards away after hitting a lamppost.

"Oh my god! Did you see that?"

"She just got hit by a car!"
