Why Are These Dumbbells So Heavy

Fang selected the gear shop option once more and scrolled through the numerous options within the gear shop. After a few minutes of searching Fang finally found what he was searching for.

[TRAINING EQUIPMENT]

-(Weights)

-(Gravity equipment)

...

The two options shone in front of Fang's eyes which made his mood increase immensely. Fang pondered on what he should select first before deciding on first buying some lifting equipment before moving on to anything else.

After selecting the weight option numerous pieces of equipment appeared in front of his eyes. The items varied from the upper body to the lower body training equipment. Fang was very excited even though he hated exercising with a passion, but since he was no longer living on the peaceful earth he had no choice but to adapt to his new life even if he doesn't like it.

Fang bought some 500kg dumbbells, 1000kg bench press weights, and a very durable punching bag. All the equipment appeared out of thin air and landed in front of Fang with a loud *BAM* the loud noise startled Sato and the others causing them to subconsciously stop their futile attempts at trying to put a dent in the humongous tree. The five wolves stared at Fang with bewilderment.

"Junior brother what're you up to?" Sato who appeared to be the squad leader couldn't contain his curiosity and directly asked Fang what he was up to as he had never seen any of the strange large metal pieces that were spread around Fang.

The others also parked up their ears as if they were also anticipating Fang's answer since they also wanted to know what their strange junior what up to but most importantly, it was because Fang was so mysterious that fueled their desire to know more about him to what he likes and dislike. To them, Fang was like a rare jewel that they'd never seen before.

Fang was not dumb, so he easily noticed the five wolves' silly antics and puffed up his chest before replying to the white wolf Sato's question."This over here is my ticket to getting stronger!" Fang's voice was loud and was infused with a hint of cockiness.

"Is that so. but how does it work?" Suzuki spoke first before Sato and the others got the chance to as he asked the question that they all wanted to know.

"It's very simple, so I'll give you a demonstration," Fang bent over and grabbed the handles of one of the dumbbells and tried to lift it, but contrary to his exceptions the dumbbell refused to lift even a small inch. Fang's face gradually turned red with every single pull which made him wonder, 'Did I overestimate myself, or are these dumbbells not your average dumbbells?"

Fang's mind kept darting left and right as he pondered on what would be the best course of action for him to take so he can salvage what little face he had. After a few attempts, Fang noticed the five white wolves' expressions shift from expectant to a strange expression that seemed to be a mixture of disappointment and pity.

"It's ok brother Fang, there's no need to push yourself since I'm positive that you'll be able to give us the demonstration another day," Suzuhime tried her best to cheer up Fang in a way that won't damage his pride.

Fang was not ready to give up just yet, he infused his mana into his right arm which was gripping the dumbbell handle. The dumbbell may have been heavy but the strength modification brought by the mana coursing through his mana circuit directly into his arm gave him that extra boost that he needed to lift the dumbbell even if it was by a mere 2 cm.

The wolves stared at Fang's display of pushing himself and instead of being impressed, they were the exact opposite which made Fang's blood boil as he yelled at his squad mates, " Fine! if you guys think you can do better than me then go ahead." After making his statement Fang stepped back a few meters to give whoever was brave enough to challenge the incredible dumbbell some breathing room.

Just as Fang had expected Sato was the first to attempt to lift the dumbbell. The real reason Fang suggested that they also try lifting the dumbbell for themselves wasn't purely out of pettiness, it was also to determine the strength of his teammates so he can at least know who to depend on if things get risky during a mission especially a mission of such difficulty as the one that they were tasked with.

Sato wasn't a mindless beast either so he could naturally tell what Fang was thinking but he also wanted to know how he stacked up to the others in his team so something of this nature must be done e inorder to have a well-functioning team. The ranking and determining of each other's strengths has nothing positive views without a single downfall since they can formulate better hunting strategies if they knew each other's strengths and weaknesses.

Sato's silver eyes that seemed to be radiating a strange light gazed upon Fang's figure and exulted a faint small for a second before lowering toward the other dumbbell that Fang didn't use and slowly opened his razor-sharp tooth-filled jaw. The jaw bit the dumbbell's handle then utilised the muscle tissues located in his neck and feet to attempt lifting the dumbbell.

Fang felt Sato's gaze on him and could swear that he saw him smiling at him for a brief moment but in the blink of an eye everything had returned to normal just as quickly as it had appeared. White Fang was distracted by the unnecessary thoughts in his head Sato was busy trying to lift the dumbbell but it wouldn't budge no matter what he tried, so he decided to use his mana.

The moment Sato started channelling his mana numerous mana fluctuations and distortions appeared around a meter radius from his body. His blue marks shone brightly as a streak of mana leaked out of his eyes making him look unbelievable fierce.

Sato clenched his teeth tightly as his jaw started showing veins. Sato lifted with all his might causing the originally still dumbbell to lift 6cm off the ground fully displaying his might to the others. Fang was not dishearted at the fact that Sato was much stronger than him he was, instead he was very happy because if they were weaker than him that meant that their chances of completing the king's mission were nothing more than a child's dream.

Sato placed the dumbbell back on the ground, giving the others a chance to also lift the dumbbell. After a few minutes, the other white wolves had also lifted the dumbbell and got various scores. Suzuki lifted the dumbbell 5cm off the ground and Suzuhime lifted the dumbbell 4cm off the ground. Now it was Ito's turn to lift the dumbbell.

Fang saw Ito approaching the dumbbell with a mischievous smile as if he was waiting for something to happen. Fang found that Ito looked very similar as if he had met him somewhere and not to mention those golden marks. Every time he looked at them it felt as if he had seen them somewhere before.

It approached the dumbbell that Fang was using and opened his jaw as he bit the handle. It didn't bother trying to lift the dumbbell without using mana. Ito's eyes seemed to glow brightly as the marks on his face radiated a bright golden light that almost blinded Fang's eyes since he was so close to Ito's golden light.

With a single pull, Ito lifted the heavy dumbbell 9cm off the ground. Fang was shocked beyond measure but seeing the smug smile on Ito's face couldn't help but curse at him internally. Fang took a closer look at Ito and a sudden realisation hit him.

"It's you!!"

Ito let go of the dumbbell in his jaws and said in a mischievous voice, "So you finally remember."

After realising who Ito was Fang got angry and threw a heavy punch at Ito's nose causing him to realise a tragic wail.

"W-why did you hit me!?"

"You dare to ask me that? take a good look at my chest then ask me that again!"

"Oh, this is about!"

"Of course it is! what else could it be about"

Fang was no longer angry, he was livid. Ito's silliness made him extremely angry causing him to throw a barrage of punches at Ito.

It stared at Fang with a grin on his wolf face as he dodged every single one of Fang's attacks making him look like he was a child trying to fight an adult.

The others were impressed by Ito's score but they weren't shocked since they knew Ito very well and what he was capable of, but seeing him having so much fun playing with their junior brother placed them in an awkward position.
