Chapter 6
I jolted awake.
That was such a bad nightmare.
My alarm clock went off.
I went to shut it off but accidentally knocked the bottle with the rose off the table.
It broke into peaces.
I jumped out of bed and started to clean the glass up.
I put the rose one the table.
Now where is that piece of paper?
I looked around the bedroom and there it was under the bed.
I crawled under the bed to get the paper I got stuck.
I grabbed the paper and when I finally got out from under the bed the paper unfolded.
There was writing on the paper.
I thought it was just a decoration.
It says.
Hello dear Mia we want you to know this bet is what is separating us.
I know you say that love is real but your parents don't think it is real.
That is why you can't remember anything because we erased your memories.
When you figure that out for yourself we want you to come back home.

What?
I have parents?
Where do they live?
Why did they take my memories away?
I walked out of the house and to the beach hoping to find some more answers.
I looked for hours but didn't find anything.
"Why did you take my memories?!!!"
I yelled at the top of my lungs.
All at once the clouds started to roll in.
Thunder sounded, lightning stuck, and the wind started to blow.
"What's happening?"
All at once I got my memories back and out of the water my parents came.
"Hello dear are you ready to come home?"
"No I am not coming back home."
"Why did you take all my memories?"
"That's what it said on the paper in the bottle."
"Well your mother and I wanted it to be easy for you to know true love isn't real."
"Well it made things worse for me."
"I have been so confused about everything if I didn't find the bottle and if it didn't break I would have never known that I was truly a mermaid."
"I was scared I couldn't remember anything about my childhood."
"You both took it all away from me."
"The only thing you let me remember was my name and what my room looked like."
"Mia you have had fun now it is time to come home and marry Evans."
"No I don't love Evans."
"Love doesn't exist."
"Goodbye."
I started to walk to Lucas's house.
"You're making a big mistake."
"You will learn the hard way."
I turned around and they were both gone at least I got to keep my memories.
I walked inside the house and Coralline was by the door, her eyes bigger than ever with a big smile.
"I just saw mermaids and you are one to."
"Yes I also figured that out too."
"so please don't tell anyone this time I will tell them when the time is right."
"Okay I will this time keep your secret."
"What did you talk about."
"About a bet that I made with them about true love they don't think it's real."
"I also got all my memories back."
"Of course love is true."
"Really?"
"Want to know why?"
"Yes!!"
"Of course I want to know."

"My whole family loves you."
"Lucas now he's the one that really loves you more than anyone else."

"If that's not true love then I don't know what is."
"I really wish my parents would understand."
"Well I am going to stay here for now till I can figure something out."

"Sorry Mom Mia remembers everything that she has forgotten."

I grabbed Caroline and walked her to her room and closed the door behind us.
"We can't tell anyone right now."
"But why?"
"I think it's cool."
Caroline made a pout face.
"I know you do but you have to give me time to think of what to say to Lucas and your parents."
"Yea okay I wont say another word about you being a mermaid."
"Thank you."
"Now let's have a girls day."
"Let's paint our nails."
