'But still, what's going on with this place… Isn't Alverto still an S-ranker? How does he have a necromancer subordinate that can control peak S-rank undead?'
There are only two possible ways for a necromancer to control a Peak S-rank undead: either they possess the legendary skill 'Soul Resonance', which is the pinnacle skill for necromancers.
Or the necromancer should be an SS-ranker.
It is common knowledge that necromancers can't control undead of the same level or of a stronger realm.
At most, an ordinary peak S rank necromancer can only control early-stage S rank undead, not peak S rank ones; such a thing is only possible with the legendary skill 'Soul Resonance'.
'Soul Resonance' is the equivalent of 'Sword Intent' for Necromancers; it's the ability to see, touch, control, and talk to 'souls' no matter how weak or strong they are.
