Kurokami's Coming

"Kurokami asked you to do this? So you already know me from the start you saw me in the library, huh?" Yuki chuckled lightly as she now understood everything. She was suspicious at first when she still didn't know who Skadi was.

It was because there was supposed to be another library clerk that would handle her, but in Yuki's eyes, it seemed that she was pushed away by Skadi so that she would have a chance to get close to her, but at that moment, Yuki didn't overthink at it. She just thought that Skadi wanted to be the one who handled her so that in the eyes of the Library owner, she would be a good worker.

That is why she kept a fake smile the whole time, but she will still have to admit that before Skadi could introduce herself, she was taking a liking to her because of how she works. She was smart and cunning at the same time, which is the kind of people that Yuki needs, she was even thinking of getting the old woman to work for her, but it seems that it was all just a dream for her when she finally introduced herself to her.

"Well… not really. My granddaughter said that you have a child appearance but are definitely not a child inside. So when I first saw you, I just thought that you were different from any other kids, but what gave it away was the way you speak. Kurokami clearly told me that if I ever meet you, I need to look out for a beautiful white-haired and red-eyed child, but that is not all the description she told me. She also told me to look for a cold and indifferent one, the one that a child would never have in their eyes and face. She explained that to me so clearly." Skadi said as she just basically repeated what Kurokami told her about Yuki.

When Yuki heard the description that Kurokami gave about her, she already knew that Skadi was not lying. She was still a little skeptical about her, even if it sounded ridiculous, Yuki had originally thought that Skadi was someone who could see and read people's minds, which is why she used Kurokami's name to bait her into it. But when she hears her explanation, she begins to trust her a little, but not that much still.

Even the picture wasn't enough to fool her because pictures were one of the easiest to tamper with, she was not a fool who would easily believe what people would tell her. She has lived long enough that she is very cautious, she is not going to take unnecessary risks that will just bring misfortune to her.

"Heh? I'm sure she told you more about me and I'm fucking sure that she told you that I'm a very cautious and cunning person, so why don't you truly give me sold evidence that you know her, or things will truly get ugly here." Yuki warned coldly as she waited for Skadi to show evidence that she truly knew Kurokami or not. Because if she didn't, Yuki doesn't mind going all-out with Skadi.

Even if she is not confident that she can win, she is more than confident that she can inflict a mortal wound on her that will cause thousands of years of suffering for her.

"Yeah, that is exactly what she said. You are very cunning, evil, merciless, smart, but also loving to her family. But if you want one more piece of evidence, then let me show you this." Skadi said hopelessly she initially thought that it was more than enough to make Yuki believe her, but it seems that she really underestimated her.

Right in front of Yuki's eyes, she saw how Skadi's appearance began to change. It went from an old lady look to a very stunning and beautiful look of a woman. But it wasn't that made her take a step back, it was how she looked identical to Kurokami. She had the same color eyes and even hair as Kurokami, but of course, in her mind, appearance was also something that could be fabricated. Just as she was about to call out Skadi, she heard a very familiar voice that she hadn't heard for more than a week.

"Grandma? Why are you calling me, do you need something from me?" Kurokami's voice can be heard from the clear crystal ball that was in Skadi's hand and just moments later, Yuki saw Kurokami's face show up in the ball.

"Actually yeah, I need your help with something. I already found Yuki, your wife. But she won't believe that I know you, so can you convince her for me? Can you come into my location, I will wait for you." Since Skadi knows that Yuki will still not believe her as long as Kurokami herself doesn't show up in front of her, she just needs to ask her to come here to verify it.

"You found her already? Wait! I'm coming right now, so please just wait!" Out of excitement, Kurokami immediately dropped the call and rushed her way toward the location that her Grandmother gave her.

A few minutes before the call went through…

Kurokami was in her own room just relaxing and beside her was Sylvia who was looking at her as a maid. Ever since they came, their considered normal life in Nightingale came back, though if she has to be honest, a lot of things changed ever since she came back.

"Kurokami… aren't you going to clean your wound? It's going to hurt more if you just let it out in the open…" Sylvia said worriedly as she looked at the dark red gash on her arm, but instead of saying anything, Kurokami just stayed quiet for a few seconds before opening her mouth to say something.

"Clean? What can I clean it with? You know this house rules… I can't use anything because of my punishment, don't worry about it, in just a day's time it will heal on its own. Plus I'm already quite used to this kind of pain, after all, I have been receiving the same treatment for over 20 years now." Kurokami answered with a light voice… she doesn't have that much energy because of what happened to her in the morning, so now she just wants to take as much rest as she can.

"Yeah… I know that, but I can't help but worry for you, not as a maid, but as your friend. Also… I made a promise to Yuki that I would take care of you, but it is clear that I'm not doing my job." Sylvia said with a sad smile as she sat beside Kurokami.

"No… you are doing more than enough already. Just you staying by my side is more than enough and as for Yuki… promise me that you won't tell her anything when we meet her. Don't even tell her secretly because that is much worse." Kurokami pleaded for Sylvia to not say anything about what was happening to her.

"Yes… just also promise me that you will tell her everything about this. Just so that she can take revenge on your part because the treatment that you are getting is just so unjust." Sylvia promised as she also asked Kurokami to do something for her, to which Kurokami just nodded her head.

It was then that her crystal ball that was on the table lit up. Kurokami and Sylvia looked at each other, she then tapped the crystal ball to accept the call, and she was surprised to see that it was her grandmother. Because she and Sylvie initially thought that it was someone else, like her Father.
