Subject 002
With a sigh, they headed down into 'The Hall' Dreading their near future. 2469 opened the door for all of them and continued. The Hall was big and separated by smaller halls at the end. Within those halls were iron currents called "DFT's" which means "Dividers For Testing." 3 are on the left sides of the hall, 4 on the right sides and the last one at the end of the hall. Each divider was spaced out dramatically to ensure testing will be secluded and have accurate readings. Also to ensure extra space for different subjects to have an area for "reaction time".
Out of these 8 curtains 1 is for specials, which is 2469 and Richy's curtain. Subjects like Richy and 2469 are the ones that seem to thrive during testing and are sent to the dark curtain for higher doses, and or more intense testing. The other curtains are ordered from greatest to least. 8-1. 8 being the strongest and 1 being the weakest.
Subjects are able to work their way to the 8th curtain by specific standards that need to be accomplished by each previous curtain. Also each curtain has a time limit. 1 has the longest time with the weakest testing and 8 has the shortest time with the most intense testing.
Richy and 2469 have curtain 8, which they have to split to speed up testing. So the ground is divided in two, chairs are set up and their data is loaded into the testing area. Spike has curtain 7, Gia has curtain 6 and Puff has curtain 4. The scientist also decide who's worthy of keeping and who's not. After testing they take subjects results and see how much the subject has or hasn't improved. If a subject stay in curtains 1-4 for too long they will either send them to a "make day" to test abilities or take the subjects abilities and put them into one of the stronger subjects, then proceed to eliminate them.
There are a total of 6 different types of testing and there are 8 curtains in each type. 48 curtains in all across the 7th floor. The types of testing are Sensory, Elemental, Hybridization, Cyborgization, Modification and Exploration. It is also possible for subjects to be in multiple categories.
For example, Richy is a special multi-testing holder subject. He's special because of the abilities he naturally had that had growth in multiple testing types. Richy falls under the elemental, exploration, and hybridization categories. Spike is another special one because he falls under hybridization, modification and exploration.
Keep in mind, just because a subject is in multiple categories does not mean they are better than the ones who are in 2 or less. Examine 2469, who falls only under elemental. He's still a special specimen due to the fact that he's the only subject that has fully and only thrived in the elemental testing besides the legendary-original success specimen number 2614.
One thing that the scientist find noteworthy is that the legend and 2469 have similar elemental abilities. They are currently holding investigators for that and hope to have another success... Next is Gia who falls under the cyborg category. She has to get monthly surgeries as her testing. It also falls under exploration and modification but, it could be argued, that its apart of being a cyborg. Lastly there's puff who has sensory and exploration, her testing is the strengthening of senses, in which they chose a part of the body that has a sense and test its durability and other things.
This is where the subjects are currently headed for their testing.
Due to the space these curtains take up, all subjects live on floors 5-3. Floor 6 is for extractions, extermination, Repair, storage, import/export and subject punishment. Floor 4 is for "Make Days" where they have subjects fight one another to see if they deserve to remain alive. Floors 7, 6 and 1 are the most guarded areas so every hall on those floors have more than 50 guards with tasers and sleep darts. Lastly, floor 2 is simply the unspoken floor.
"Oh no..." Richy said slowing down his pace..
"Yea...." Gia added.
"Were here." whined Spike.
2469 quietly held his head in the direction of the hall and slowly proceeded.
