Tuesday night on the 31st of December in the year 2020. 
I remember this day extremely well because it was the day I committed suicide ...... and also the day it all began. 
Instead of descending to the afterlife as I had wished I instead ended up being placed in the Tower of Chaos as a participant in a competition. 
That's fine then since I could simply kill myself if I didn't wish to participate but the problem was Hades the god of Death chose me as his successor meaning that suicide wasn't an option.
Though he did say what I had to do to have a peaceful death.......I simply had to reach the top of the tower. 
But were things really that simple?

Death's successor

"Yes sir" she said as she scuttled away but not before giving me a small wink. This girl was seriously a piece of work. My food was soon brought by a waiter and BOY! Did it taste good. The food was fried egg, bread and sausages served alongside a hot cup of coffee. The fried egg was much larger than the size of a normal chicken's fried egg and it also emitted a bit of dark mana making it look very poisonous which I found a bit strange, but all my suspicions disappeared after a single bite.

'This is delicious' I thought as I wolfed the entire egg without taking even a second to breathe. I then had a sip of coffee which tasted the same as normal coffee from earth. In fact, it looked exactly like coffee from earth. This was also the same case for the bacon.

After my meal I immediately headed to the reception where Miller was stationed.

"Hey Miller, could you tell me where you got the bacon and coffee from?" I asked.
