Tuesday night on the 31st of December in the year 2020. 
I remember this day extremely well because it was the day I committed suicide ...... and also the day it all began. 
Instead of descending to the afterlife as I had wished I instead ended up being placed in the Tower of Chaos as a participant in a competition. 
That's fine then since I could simply kill myself if I didn't wish to participate but the problem was Hades the god of Death chose me as his successor meaning that suicide wasn't an option.
Though he did say what I had to do to have a peaceful death.......I simply had to reach the top of the tower. 
But were things really that simple?

Death's successor

"You seem to be mistaken" I said as I glanced up and down his body.

"Huh?" grunted the demon confused by my statement.

"It is me who will be evaluating the worth of this place not the other way around." I said clarifying my point in a condescending tone.

"What did you just FUCKING say!" he bellowed completely flustered and enraged. "Seems like I need to teach you a lesson on knowing your FUCKING PLACE!"

He swung his large right fist at me only to meet nothing but air which left him puzzled.

'Where did he go?' thought the demon as he glanced around in confusion.

"I'm right here" I said standing at his right side. As he turned to face me, I punched him straight in the gut causing him to bend forward and collapse on his knees heaving.

'Why is it that everyone is always violent when I first meet them' I thought as I eyed the heaving demon who even when kneeling was almost the same height as me.
