Innocent, pretty, kind, and compassionate were the fitting descriptions for Karen Barger. She had been living her perfect life until it had begun to crumble at a time she least expected it.

"For how much longer? That has been your excuse since forever. No, first, it was your work, and now it's your father. I barely get to see you, and you barely answer my texts or calls. What do you want me to assume if not that you're no longer interested in me?"

"I'm sorry," Gabriel explained. "How can I make it up to you?"

"Get back to your old self. It's the only thing I am asking for. I want to feel the strength of your love, and I want to be able to courageously tell people that you're mine." Sophia answered.

"You can feel my love even if I am not with you," Gabriel answered.

"That isn't a guarantee," Sophia said.

" How do I make this right by you and by my father? You two are very important to me, and I don't want to lose either of you," Gabriel tried to explain.

"Stay with me tonight," Sophia said without thinking twice about it.
