Incriminating Confession

"Take care of yourselves. I need to rest for a while," Nobert said, but the family stood rooted where they were. A nurse who had come in for a checkup checked the monitor and realized it wasn't reading.

"You need to excuse me," the nurse said as she moved to feel Nobert's pulse. There was no count.

She pressed the intercom, and it went straight to Bill's office, and he rushed to the room. Angie, Alice, and Gabriel were there watching silently, each mumbling a prayer that Nobert lives on.

Without saying a word, Bill pulled over Nobert's blanket over his face. He then turned to the family and saved, "I'm sorry. He is gone."

Karen held Frank in her arms and couldn't stop kissing every part of his body she could.  He cried when she held some parts of the body, an indication that he was in pain. After finally getting hold of Karen over the phone, Jim, Jael, and Carol had driven down to be with her for a while, and Karen was so grateful for that.
