What’s In The Name?

"Arnold, I'm sorry I had to call you. Can you come over?" The caller asked in panic and not recognizing the voice, Arnold removed the phone from his ears and checked the caller ID.

It was Val's number; he had deleted it from his phone book, but he knew it offhead.

The number was Val's, but who had the phone?

"Sorry, who are you?" Arnold asked in a confused voice as he got up from the bench.

"Sorry, my manners. It's Tracy," the woman from the other line replied after chuckling nervously.

"Tracy! Which Tracy?" Arnold asked with a deep frown: he was even more confused.

"Val's sister."

"Holy shit. My bad, sorry. I didn't recognize the name. Why are you calling again?" Arnold asked, now alarmed.

"It's Val," Tracy answered, then sighed heavily.

Arnold kept quiet, resisting the urge to act like an asshole to someone he barely knew. Plus, he had a problem with Val, not her sister.
