'How much longer will this go on? How much longer will we live in fear of Nathan? How much longer? Fuck! This is so fucked up,' Sophia thought as she poured out all her frustrations on the steering wheel.

She looked at Marc's receding figure and hid a sob, and wished their lives could take a U-turn.

Had her life not been comfortable with Gabriel? Weren't her problems with Gabriel too small compared to her current predicament with Nathan?

'What got into me? What was I thinking? I'm in this because I didn't want to be alone," she thought and shuddered with the realization that her fear of abandonment had intensified in her adulthood.

'Now, I have to pay for it with my mental health,' she cursed as she ran her hands over her freshly made hair.
