Better Off Dead

Carey's heart stopped beating. The blood in his system also seemed to stop flowing. He felt his head become light, his chest muscles contracted in pain, his vision became blurry, and his knees became weak since all the energy in him seemed to have been siphoned out. He had difficulties in breathing, and the only thing he thought he needed was somewhere to support himself.

'I … I need to get myself to my car,' he thought to himself, but he was so shocked by Cheryl's words that he seemed to be glued like a statue where he stood.
