Her Dumb Honour

"Where have you been this entire time?" Gabriel asked. His hurt was clearly visible on his face.

Alice and Hayden exchanged looks.

"I…I have… been…." Alice said as she stammered, suddenly losing all vocabulary. She held her forehead and shut her eyes as she struggled to look for words, and Angie looked from her to Hayden in hatred, then turned to look at Gabriel and said, "you know what? We don't even need it. This is a pure waste of time. Let's go."

"No! Angie! Wait," Alice begged as she moved closer to Angie, but Hayden moved fast and held her back.

"I have been in his house," Alice shouted.

"W…what!" Angie and Gabriel yelled in unison, their eyes almost popping out of their sockets.

Alice responded in a hushed tone, "Yes." She looked down and twiddled her fingers before murmuring. "Yes, I stayed in his house…."
