Ivan seeing through his eyes saw the determination, raising his hand he stopped his friends and thought, "Is a real man going to be born out of him tonight?", "Stop, this fight will go according to how the Challenger wants it, when the right time comes we will beat him to pieces, show us the Loser", Max walked away and Ivan and his friends followed, with an annoying face.

Max was thinking, "All this time in school they made me think I am worthless and talentless, he gave me bad grades even though I was good, shaming me before my family, I believe in grandpa and as he said, tonight the world will change and I had read the book of magic, I will be on a different league than them, I will become the one with talent and they will be the talentless ones".

[TIME 23:50, TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE NEW YEAR]

Max got to the place on the field of grass he raised his finger at them, "I challenge you all to a duel, 1 against 5, for my reward I will regain my honour and If I lose, I will forever be on your shoe and tell myself that I once a loser and always be a loser".

Ivan standing and breathing the air of cold snow, "Duel accepted, you have what you want if you win and if you lose you will become my dog, I will be walking you down the hills and feeding you some nice fancy dog food".

Max nodded and Ivan said, "It's the time boys do your jobs", the four boys with Ivan jumped at Max, each got him from an angle, punched, kicked, threw, as Ivan was looking at him, "Was I wrong, I saw the determination in his eyes, he is still the same boy, covered by fantasy, I hate boys who are unaware of the reality of our world, he was disgusting, how could he accept for a girl to sit next to him, who he has never known, have some pride in yourself, if that day you had to reject her sitting on your table, I would have shared a secret that will happen today, something that will shake the world".

Ivan asked his friends, "Leave him be", Max was beaten up pretty badly and was covered in blood, "It's my turn, I will make him my dog".

Ivan started to punch his left and Right, in a barbaric way, "Wow, Ivan is going all out tonight, I have never seen him this angry", "He either has a grudge against him or he wants a human-dog pretty badly", Ivan finished with his beating and came back to his friends, "You went all out on him, what's the deal, buddy?", "Don't call me buddy, what's the time", one of his friends answered, "It's 23:59, why?".

Ivan with a smile said, "Finally it is time", "What?", Said his friends.

The sky that was covered with billions of fireworks behind them vanished and shocked them, they started to question each other, "What happened?", "The sound of the fireworks just disappeared", "Why is the world so silent".

The world went dark, fear was breaking them apart from each other, they thought it was the end of the world, one of them started to scream.

The dark night slowly disappeared, as a mysterious blue and yellow light covered the darkness of the world, "Is this the punishment of God, I am sorry".

The lights exploded in the sky and divided itself on the world, the lights covered every living being with a life, and become one with them, the boys knew about such prophecy but they didn't believe of it, they thought it was just story of the old-tales.

Covered light, they asked themselves, "What is going with us?", "I don't know but the feeling is great", "Yeah I feel strong", "Me too", "Yeah I have the same feeling", their attention went to Max on the ground, hearing him laugh, "Haha... I knew it", one of the boys asked the others, "What did Max meant by that?".

Ivan punched him and he was flown to the air, "Haven't I told you, do not call a loser by his name, your job is to follow the rules I set".

The rest of the boys smiled and laughed at the same time, they were unbelievably glad, "Ivan it seems you have gotten really strong", "Didn't we all get this power now but it seems even now you are the most talented one between us.

Ivan started to tell his friends, "Idiots I knew about this power before you and I have waited for years for it, it is called Mana, our true source of power", "What? how would you know that anyway?", "We are from a noble family, we have our power and way to secrets of the world".

As Ivan was explaining to his friends, suddenly he and his friends were overwhelmed by a presence behind them, Ivan turned around only to be shocked, "What the hell is this, a no body like you?", Ivan saw Max standing all healed up mana was playing around him, it was as if his body was not able to hold his massive power, the jealously got over Ivan and screamed, "You mere Peasant, how the hell do you have this much mana, I waited years for this time to come and you are the first one to overwhelm me, I will kill you", Ivan couldn't believe his eyes and jealously was covering his emotions, he managed to gather a large mount of mana around himself, "You pesant may have a large amount of mana but I have studied all the skills there is to mana, I wi destroy you even in this new world", Ivan screamed at his friends, "Come before me?", They wanted to ask him why but he didn't give them time to think, "Come now", They came before Ivan.

Ivan raised his hand and ordered, "Appear", a wand appeared in his palm and pointing at his two friends he said, "Increase in power and might by the cost of my mana", his friend's body started to reshape, their physiques got larger and they felt stronger, "What is this power within me, I feel physically much stronger", "Yes, I feel the same what did you do Ivan?", Ivan answered, "I boosted your physical power now obey my orders and beat this peasant to pieces, go as far as killing him".

"I feel much stronger, sorry Max, you little boy", their physiques were now 2 times larger than their normal physiques, they stood before Max, who looked very small for them, but the mana was very large.

Max was standing as the yellow and blue light was still around him, Ivan's friends Harik and Erik, who had gotten stronger, looked down at Max, Harik kicked him to the sky, the wind was so strong it shook the earth and put a smile on Ivan's body, Erik saw Max is still on the sky, "I can't wait till he comes back, you kicked him a little too hard", "Sorry friend", Erik jumped and destroyed the ground below him, above the clouds, he saw Max floating, "I am sorry Max, the order is to kill you", Erik kicked him back down and Harik was kicking him back up, it went on for a minute until Ivan said it was enough and Harik let him hit the ground, "He must surely have died by now", thought Ivan, Max stood up from the pit, "Haha... I still can't believe, Grandpa was right, haha... what do I do with you now, should I tear you apart and send you away to hell", Ivan screamed, "Kill him".

From the sky came down Erik and knee kicked Max in the face, "Die already, don't make it harder on us", Max's arm was raised and Erik saw him holding a wand.

From the wand a light beam was shot, a large one too but Erik managed to dodge it and came by Ivan's side, "What the hell are you doing?", "Ivan you have to do something with your magic, physical attacks don't work on him, just now as I landed the kick, he was protected by a barrier, the mana is protecting him and the light right now, was from his wand", "Don't lie to me, how the hell would he know, how to summon a wand, Harik, you do something".

Harik being closer, he saw from the dust Max coming closer, "Hmm... Yes sir".

Harik at a highly concentrated speed came before Max and punched him in the face, the damage he dealt was so large it destroyed all the land behind Max, as the dust cleared, Ivan laughed, "I don't sense any mana anymore, haha... you weakling, see harik killed him", Erik was surprised, "I am sure he had a barrier of mana, there is no way", the dust cleared completely and to their shock, Harik's arm had been ripped off by the punch, he had damaged himself, "You are kidding me?" Said, Ivan.

Ivan saw a wand in Max's hand, Max smiled and said, "Are you scared?", Ivan's mind snapped and he got angry, raising his wand, "You two, combine!", "What are you serious", Ivan then said, "It was not a request but an order", "Ivan you little punk, you will listen to us from now on-", Said Erik but then was dragged by a strong wind, that came from the wand, Harik and the two other friend, "Soul combination", the souls of his friends with a boost of physical were combined and from the combination, a new soul was born, "I will call you Sal, the combination of souls", a mixture voice answered as the body formed and kneeled before Ivan, "Yes, Master".

"Kill that man before me?", the being "Sal" attacked, before reaching Max, Max pointed the wand at himself, "Boost in power and might then disappear", his physique changed and Max caught a punch from the being Sal, they changed blows and consecutive punches, they were on an equal scale, Max tried speed blitz Sal and kick Ivan in the face but his leg was caught by Sal and thrown to the sky.

Ivan had almost a heart attack from fear, he couldn't even register a thing that happened, it all happened like a flash.

"Yes, my being is faster and stronger haha... yes kill him, Sal, become the ultimate weapon for me, I will feed you more souls, soon just kill this bastard".

As Ivan was dreaming in his thoughts, above the sky Max was floating and holding Sal by his head, "You poor soul, you don't have mana left to fight me, what should I do spare you or throw you to the depth of hell", Sal had a tear in his eye, four voices at the same time talked, "Please help... it hurts".

Max told Sal, "I know, he used the spell Soul combination under his commandment too, so that you may not refuse, I will release you of your pain", Max punched the heart of the being Sal, Ivan saw the clouds and snow disappear, four bodies flew down to him, Max ascended like an angel to Ivan.

Ivan thought to himself, "How can a talentless Pesant be so powerful, I trained my whole life, I never told anyone about this, I was supposed to be the only one and be the strongest human",  As Max came before him, he asked Max with tears, "You fxcking cheater, who told you about today's event, you weren't supposed to know about today nor anyone...", screaming he asked, "who...",  Max lowered his mana because it was playing with Ivan's emotions, "Long ago God sent me an angel in human form and he taught me all there is to know about mana and the day it will come back, will be the day I will be the most freedman in the world, today is a sign for a new world and a new me".

Ivan pointed his wand at Max, "It was supposed to be a new me", Max under a second Slapped Ivan and knocked him unconscious, "I have won, I am a free man now, I am the honoured one ones again".
