"Good Morning", Jesper Danielsen opened his eyes to see his Roommate Torsten Helmfrid, "Good Morning Bastard", "How many times have I told you do not swear, you must try to become a good grown-up, my friend, you Jesper Danielsen have been chosen by fate to eat with me this morning and I would also suggest to stop sleeping and train more".

Turning to his right side, Jesper said, "Sorry but I want to sleep now, I am a little tired, save the food for later or eat it yourself".

Sighed Torsten, "Well, do what you wanna do", He started to eat and Jesper was in his bed, thinking about him.

"Torsten Helmfrid, last year our teachers put us together, saying together we would become stronger, to be honest, he is a strong dude but he is kind of annoying sometimes, always putting me in situations I have never been on, till now I have never accepted him as friends nor anybody else".

[YEARS AGO]

Jesper the young dude like everyone he used to be a kid in the past, in class 1, when he first entered the school he was introduced to the wrong people who taught him the stronger one wins, at that time Jesper slowly turned into a bad student.

[CLASS 6, AGE 13]

"Jesper why are you doing this to yourself, are those punk friends of yours are of any help to you and your future, you had good grades until last year but now you have declined by a lot, so what is your plan will you leave your friends for a better life a successful one", Said and asked a teacher, who was sitting before Jesper.

Jesper then answered, "Those who you call my friends are nothing but Puppets to me, the trash that belongs to the garbage, I use them and make them think that they use me, in this world only I am at the top and if in the near future a boy could show up to be my friend, a boy second to none them I will listen to his words only, you the teacher are nothing but a slave like all the students and the people outside, you all belong to the system that was created by this land, those who follow the system, I hate them, you those punks and my family, they are all nothing but slaves to the system".

The teacher got angry and threw a punch at Jesper, "What did you say?", Jesper used a pencil on the table and tried to pierce through his fist but the pencil broke, later he was escorted to the hospital and the teacher was arrested, then Jesper confirmed the lesson, "The weak are a slave to the strong".

Jesper until the age of 18 trained in the gym becoming stronger and more fit, however, they were all useless a one-man army doesn't exist, Walking on the streets alone on a snowy night, it was the new year's day, suddenly he felt a power-up in the world, he who knew nothing of mana thought that the world has given him a chance to fight the system, "Thank my God".

[JESPER'S ROOM]

Sitting on the chair alone, looking at the outside world, Torsten thought of his family and past.

[YEARS AGO]

Torsten Helmfrid, came from a poor family, "Dad I wanna help too, you can't just work alone, you will be tired and...", Said a crying boy as his father was about to leave to work again, the dad put his on Torsten's head and pat him, "Don't worry if you truly want to help me then study and become a good man and one day with power change this world, become a king or a president gather knowledge because it can become a weapon for you, make decisions that change lives for the good, not for the bad".

"Yes father, I will do so", Said Torsten.

Years had gone by and Torsten topped every class he entered, he was given many chances to lead many great projects, they saw him as a genius worth the power, he had made his dead father proud.

Torsten had only his mother and sister left, in the middle of his last school year, the world changed and the mana was a thing once again, protecting his family during the disaster event of magic.

Using his intelligence he knew the world would change, "I will become stronger with magic and conquer the world with kind words and change it, I will make your dreams come true father", Said Torsten as he looked outside the world in the present time.

[PRESENT]

Jesper stood up and Torsten wiped the tear off his face, "Jesper, what's wrong I thought you were sleeping", "Well thanks to you, I can no longer sleep, stop eating and let's go outside, today is the announcement, I wanna see if there is something beneficial for us there", "You are right Jesper, why did I forget it was today".

Walking outside together, on their way to the announcement poster, "Hey guys wait... Jesper Wait", a girl called out to them, Jesper didn't answer, "Oh it's the girl that likes you Jesper", Said Torsten.

"I don't care, tell her to piss off", the girl reached them and Torsten greeted her, "Jesper why don't you answer back", Said the girl as she stood before Jesper.

Jesper with his palm pushed her away and said, "Don't stand before me, I have something important to do".

The girl didn't get angry and stick herself to Jesper, Torsten moved to her left, now she was between them.

"Jesper, we are supposed to get married, you can't treat your wife like that", Said Lina, "I never accepted such a thing and why do you stick around just leave us alone", Said Jesper.

"See I love strong men and you, you are cute and strong and I know you like me too because I am strong and cute", Said the girl, "Whatever".

Torsten then said, "I mean strong yeah but cute... Nah...", Torsten got a fist to the face, "Sorry".

[MOMENTS LATER]

Standing before a poster with his roommate and girlfriend, "Our name is here, Jesper, haha... I never lost hope in you, I knew you would reach my level one day, to be honest at some point I did lose hope but you are a candidate now, let's do our best at the tournament, haha...", Said Torsten.

Jesper was happy within himself but didn't want to reveal it, but he said, "Yeah whatever let's go and eat now, I am kind of hungry too".

"Well this is out of character haha... but let's go and enjoy it... haha...", Said Torsten.

Lina was still stunned, that she was chosen too, "I can't believe, we both got chosen, so wait, we are so strong just what would happen to our kids", as she turned around to smile at Jesper, he saw another dude there.

She punched him as he smiled back, "That wasn't meant for you", she ran after Torsten and Jesper, "Wait for me... I haven't eaten too".

[ONE MONTH LATER]

After one month all the thirteen candidates trained and strive to become stronger than their current form, to fight with Magic and all out for their first time.

In a stadium where over 3000+ students were gathered and the candidates in the middle, fireworks and celebrations started.

-Axel Morch, "Interesting, the king will be here today".

-Elena Kofoed, "I must show Max, that I am not weak and worthy of him".

-Hildr Rochus, "Wow... so many people".

-Gerold Rochus, "Sister... what are you thinking of right now".

-Hjalmar Hammer, "Those small fries, I will hunt them one by one, this will be fun".

-Holger Bisgard, "Luckily the names of the candidates were revealed and I have a method to defeat each of them".

The chairman Peter Meha was also standing in the stadium before the 13 Candidates, the crowd was noisy and celebrations with music and fireworks were everywhere, the chairman then screamed, "Silence", the whole school stopped.

"Now I can talk", sigh, "Thanks to everyone for joining us in today's event, please all of you together with give a nice and warming applause for the 31st of our world, Berserk Layor...", Said the chairman.

The whole stadium started to applause for the king, wearing a red suit, a devilish smile on his face, he came before the candidates slowly, everyone went silent as he stood before them, "I wish you all the best of luck, entertain me, my subject", Said the king.

Jesper's mind Snapped, but Ivan who knew what he was about to do stopped him, shaking his head, Jesper then stopped.

The kind jumped from the stadium ground to the crowd, a special place was built for him with a red and golden colour of a chair, he sat there and looked down, "Let the tournament begin Chairman", the chairman nodded his head, speaking to the mic, "We will start soon my king".

"Yes, so the tournament is easy, one fight after another, the crowd will be protected by a layer of magic, so please use all that you have in your power, the winner will get a special reward from the king and also successfully made out of the school, now let us show you the plan of the fights", said the chairman.

Pointed behind him a list showed up, "Interesting choice, these list of fighting were made by the teachers, throughout many discussions and arguments".

-Max Bellwitz, "This can't be true, something is fishy here, why her first, it makes no sense it should be based on the alphabetical order, they are up to something".

Max looked at the king, saw the smile on his face and next to him was Relik, their teacher, "You did a good job Relik, you have done your job very well, this will be really entertaining".

The chairman continued, "As you see based on the list, please everyone find your opponent and without saying a word, stand somewhere in the stadium and please Lina Rigmor, came here you will be fighting later".

Lina walked to the chairman, standing behind him and the rest found a place to stand and looked each other in the eye.

All the candidates except for Max and Elena were strapped to the wall, hands were caught and feet too, Max looked around and didn't know what was happening, the chairman told them, "Max Bellwitz and Elena Kofoed, the stage is yours".

The king stood up and the crowd who didn't know what was happening heard him say, "I will now tell you the rules, the first rule there is no holding back and the second rule is to win and the third rule is to kill your opponent to win", "Let the match begin".

Max was stunned, a barrier showed up covering the sky and the surrounding, "What is happening here, did he say kill your opponent to win?".
