Protect Mu Fei

Over the next few days, Luo Fei studied his new situation.

After the accident, he woke up in the body of a young man who happened to be his age. His name is Lin Mu Fei. Mu Fei was one of the disciples of Lan Tian Academy. It was said that Lan Tian Academy was a well-known school in the northern region.

Well, he certainly didn't understand about it. He didn't even know for sure where he was. This world seemed so foreign to him. He found nothing in common between his old world and the place he was in. There was no modernity here. Everything looked like from a very old period. The ancient time, precisely.

But that was not what bothered him. What was difficult for his mind to comprehend, apart from his transfer to Mu Fei's body, was Lan Tian Academy. He meant everyone here had power. He could see flashes of blue, purple, white, and more emanating from their bodies. If he didn't see with his own eyes, he wouldn't believe that. How was that possible?

Oh, and one more. Sword skills. Feng Ren said everyone had their sword. So, where was his?

"Hey, coward!"

His steps automatically stopped as if he recognized the voice. No. It was more than just knowing that. It was also a fear. He could feel a swish of fear coursing through his body.

But now, this body no longer belonged to Mu Fei. This body had already passed to him, and he had complete control over it. So, he would shake off the fear and face whoever it was.

Luo Fei turned around and found three youths standing not far from him. He tilted his head, not recognizing any of them. Luo Fei had spent his convalescence in a solitary room for the past five days. Practically, he only met Jianyi and Feng Ren, who really helped him understand his new world. There was also Grandmaster Fu Chou, who had spoken to him several times. It seemed that Grandmaster Fu Chou cared about him. Ah, not him, but Mu Fei. He still wasn't used to his new self.

Apart from them, there were a few more that he couldn't quite remember the names of. However, he had met none of the three youths before him. "Did you talk to me?" he asked after looking around to make sure no one else was nearby.

"Sure. What a coward. Because of you, we were punished!" shouted the young man on the right.

Luo Fei couldn't stop the frown from appearing on his forehead. Suddenly, three people appeared in front of him and accused him of being guilty. He certainly didn't accept it. "What did I do to you?"

"You...!"

"Your brain must have died, too. How dare you go against us?" This time, the youth on the left spoke.

"I asked, what did I do to you?" asked Luo Fei, still with the same expression. "How can that be called a fight?" he continued, not feeling guilty at all. But, he was indeed innocent, wasn't he?

"You should have died." The middle one said with fists clenched in anger. Then without a word, he took out the sword in his hand.

Luo Fei was surely shocked to see that. Apparently, sparking anger here ended up being horrific. His life was at stake. He could see how easily they drew swords at him that had no weapons with him. And did everyone here always carry a sword?

But before he could put up the fight—running away, of course, for it was useless to fight three swordsmen at once—a person appeared and stood in their midst. "Jianyi." Slowly, he said his name.

They paused for a moment, taken aback by the sudden presence of someone who stopped their intentions.

"Stand back, Jianyi. Don't interfere." The middle shouted a warning.

Jianyi glanced briefly behind him. To be precise, towards Luo Fei with a gesture of running away. Then he looked back at the three haughty youths in front of him. "Wasn't the punishment enough for you?" As usual, he said it flatly, almost tonelessly.

"Punishment? We didn't deserve it."

"He tried to kill himself. Why were we being punished?"

Luo Fei's eyes widened at hearing that. So, they were Mu Fei's hell that made him take that decision, severing the veins on both of his wrists. Mu Fei must be in a lot of trouble and despair.

"Retreat, Jianyi. I don't want to make you an enemy."

Jianyi didn't reply and tightened his grip on his sword, still sheathed. It was a beautiful white sword with intricate gold carvings.

Seeing Jianyi's unwavering determination to protect Luo Fei, they no longer had any qualms against him. They go forward together. The target was Jianyi. After Jianyi collapsed, next was Luo Fei.

Jianyi finally pulled out his sword just as the first strike was about to hit him. He repelled it and kicked him to make the young man back off. Then, he quickly spun to the right to parry an attack from his right side and took a stance to land a kick to his left when the corner of his eye caught a movement there.

Their battle was fierce. The three tried to attack him simultaneously, but he spun around and flew to avoid them.

One against three shouldn't be easy. However, Jianyi managed to do it. The three of them had yet to land a single attack on his body. Meanwhile, Jianyi had kicked them several times to keep them away from the battlefield. Jianyi clearly had refrained himself from slashing them with his sword. After all, the battle using magic and swords was forbidden at Lan Tian Academy.

"Stop it!" A firm command was tucked away in the whirring sound of the sword. One more person joined there. Not in a fight, but to stop them.

Luo Fei peeked through their movement gap. He had difficulty recognizing the person as their fight quickly got in the way. However, after a hard effort with narrowed eyes maximally, he recognized him as Master He Liang, a teacher at Lan Tian Academy.

The four of them didn't stop and continued to fight as if He Liang's words had never been heard.

"Do I need to incapacitate you to stop the fight?" He Liang raised his voice.

Only after He Liang had made his threat did they stop their movement. They stood awkwardly in their place. He Liang was a master at disciplining students by using his paralyzing spell.

"You all come with me!" He Liang's orders were decisive. He then turned away to direct them to his room. "You too, Mu Fei." He added before starting to walk ahead of the five of them.

Lin Mu Fei.

It seemed Lu Fei had to get used to his new name. After all, his current body belonged to Mu Fei.
